I wsa thinking the same thing (unfortunately). If I can't move and am going to piss myself, feel my back spasm, and am nearly blacking out in pain - I call 911 while I still have a chance. Who wouldn't?

BUT if there were drugs in immediate view and he couldn't even get up to move them into a cupboard... that's probably closer to what happened... Or perhaps he tried a "self-medication" and thought he would get caught on something. This isn't to spread rumors - all just guesses. BUT his story lacks a bit of common sense.

I've always liked Cormier's physique. Regardless of what his ailment is I hope he gets better soon. I'd love to see the end result of him training with Yates for several months.
