Um, you don’t search the gnutella network with a “link.” You connect with other users whom happen to be on the network at the exact same time you are.
When you perform a search Limewire searches the “public” files of most people who happen to be logged on. Several people may have the files (software, music, movies, porn, etc.) you are looking for but if they are not logged on you will not see those files in your search window.
One of the secrets to using Limewire is to perform searches when the maximum number of people are logged on, hence your search is more likely to return good results. History has shown that the best time to search for almost anything is 11pm-3am EST on Friday & Saturday.
If you are looking for something, you better hurry; the party may be ending soon at Limewire. It’s being sued by the music industry much as Napster and other filesharing services were sued and shut down.
