i trained hard back then but not as hard as i do now especially all the cardio i do now

back then it was all about how much i could bench and curl and how many chins. there was an obese kid who could bench 405 it was a sight for us to see. then there was a 19 or 20 year old in the 11th or 12th grade who could do 325 at a bodyweight of probably 170-180 really impressive he had veins popping out everywhere, my best bounce bench at the time with sloppy form was around 340 something, i cant quite remember

Pinch tests aren't accurate. They're a good gauge of where you are in relation to the last time you were tested. I'm not saying that you're not lean man, I'm just saying that you're not at 5%. Also, you shouldn't measure bf % after you work out since it screws with the measurements.

hell no not even close man. i dont even use much above 200 pounds as far as chest exercises, i like using the cybex machine. if i use the flat bench press ill bench 185 down to 95 pounds for 15 minutes straight..

but for back and curls i like to go heavy.

for legs i like to go moderate to light weight

the main thing for me is keeping all my joints n tendons healthy. ive got a sholder that bothers me that i cant do some of the lifts i would like for chest, i just cant go real heavy

Have you tried taking some MSM and Glucosamine? When i first started lifting my left shoulder was lagging way behind my right, so I always had a tendency to hurt it. My joints stayed healthier and healed up a lot more quickly when i started supping with that a few times a week. Normally I just take some every couple days, and if I'm injured I'll take it twice a day. Makes you hair and fingernails grow real fast too :P

Yeah, I've had that. Last time I injured my shoulder like that it happened right before a contest, which sucked. I've been careful with my shoulders ever since. If it's too tender to work or feels worse when you exercise it, give it a rest. Switch up your chest routine if you have to and avoid any direct shoulder work that aggravates it. MSM will help it heal up more quickly, but it will still take time. Try switching to flyes and dumbbell presses for chest if benching aggravates it too much, and for me at least I found that when I slowed down my reps on shoulder work and kept continuous tension on there I was able to still work it and strengthen it without injuring myself further. in the end though, you have to gauge it yourself. Some injuries you can work through, others you can't. If it doesn't seem to be healing up at all, take some time off from any kind of lifting that hits it for a few days to a week. Also, if Ibuprofen reduces the pain and swelling, then it's usually not too bad. If it doesn't, then it might be somehting more severe and probably needs rest. This is mostly anecdotal though, and I don't know if your problem is the same as some as I've had or if you'll respond the same, but hopefully at least some of what I've said can help.
