Dag, BH!  You beat me to it.  I used to train at the same gym in Austin where Dave was back in the mid-late 90's.  He encouraged me to stay natural and is a great inspiration.  Do you know how he faired in MuscleMania last fall?

Not sure how he did at the musclemania, but we competed together at the Team Universe last year. He took second to Chris Faildo in the welterweights. That was a stacked line up.

Re-read (carefully) my original post which Debussey quoted...

If you read up on successful natural trainees you'll indeed find that they do indeed all follow the same principles:

-basic healthy wholefood diet, rich in protein with lots of water
-low volume or HIT training, three or so days a week

...granted, there are lots of naturals following all sorts of different routines and diets. But none of them are making any real progress.

It's not really fair to class these other "hobbyists" as being natural bodybuilders, they might lift weights but they don't manage to build any real muscle.

havent read the whole thread, so i dont really know what your discussing. but your incorrect regarding all successful natural trainees using HIT/low volume. and besides, you havent seen every "successful natural trainee" workout, so you cant make blanket statements like that.

and how do you define successful natural trainee.

Over the next month I'll be putting up a vid of my attempt at 405 for 15 reps in the deadlift

That's a great lift Luke (not flaming BTW).  You weigh under 200 right?  If so, then a double BW DL for that many reps is very impressive.  I don't think I could DL 560 for 15 Tongue

...don't be too impressed just yet, my best so far is only 12 reps.

I'm gonna need some help with the technicals as well... might meet up with some of GetBig's Irish contingent and have someone else video the lift for proprieties sake.

Pic no2 is me at around 212 checking myself out in the mirror 2 weeks before another contest

I will be looking even better this year as I am planning to come in even more ripped for my next contest - SuperBody June 20th in Miami!

get the fuck out of here. your not natural lol you fucking drugged up liar. secondy hit training stop with this HIT bullshit..its not the best way to train for strength or muscle mass. specially not the extreme low variations.
