75th Anniversary of Muscle Beach Venice

It all started in 1934 when a group of health and fitness pioneers brought fame to Santa Monica Muscle Beach with their feats of weightlifting, strength and gymnastics. In 2009, Muscle Beach Venice marks the 75th Anniversary of the world renown home of bodybuilding.
This historic occasion will be celebrated on July 4th 2009 at the Mr. & Ms. Muscle Beach Bodybuilding, Figure and Bikini Competition. Icons from the industry including Hall of Fame Inductees will be on hand with City of Los Angels Officials to recognize this great history.

It is the heartbeat of the who’s who in Bodybuilding, Figure, Health and Fitness for over seven decades. Venice Beach is the hub or the hot bed of the Physical Culture industry in America and for that matter the World. All eyes have been on Muscle Beach Venice for over seven decades.
Under Joe Wheatley’s helm dignity, honor and pride has become household words and corner stone of his operations and the sport in general. Thinking of the athletes first. Other promoter’s unfortunately use similar saying on their posters and websites only to use these cute sayings to line their greedy, self absorbed pockets with more money from the athletes. Muscle Beach is the way it should be. FOR THE ATHLETES AND SPORTS IN GENERAL.
Let’s all support “Joe Wheatley” and keep the Muscle Beach Venice legacy alive and well. It’s our birthright, our hope for the future. Let’s don’t screw it up!
