Three times a year, Joe Wheatley puts on a contest on the beach. Muscle Beach, that is, in the heart of Venice, where the building near the pit looks like a barbell. The 2009 Muscle Beach Labor Day contest is coming up soon, as we will see you there. Here is the poster regarding the contest.

The Muscle Beach Venice productions are the American trademark how we should do business and treat the athletes. Joe’s productions keeps the entry fees low and the entire sun-splashed out door extravaganza is Free to the attendees.
It’s legacy and tradition is as long as the century. The list of honorees showcased reads like a who’s who in the unabridged Oxford English dictionary. Names such as Bill Pearl, Dave Draper, Steve Reeves, Bill Smith, George Eifferman, Larry Scott, Lou Ferrigno, Joe Weider, Rachel McLish, Cory Everson and yes, Arnold are just a few who have graced the Muscle Beach Venice stage.
These productions are the single and most diving force today. It tells us who we have been, where we are going and how we should do business in this Multi Million dollar industry called Health Fitness.
As a former producer of the largest NPC – IFBB box office attendance records. I would be nothing without the help and courtesy of the athletes who help make the magic come alive and keep these records unchallenged.
