  • From Bodybuilding to the Big Screen: The best physique on the planet: America's favorite muscle man puts his trophies on the shelf to get amped on acting. Kevin is starring in the upcoming action thriller Backlash.

Kevin Levrone, a legend and one of the bodybuilding world's most admired personalities, has put down the barbells to pursue his lifelong love of acting.

Honing his acting skills under the watchful eyes of Allen Williams & highly respected Broadway and Hollywood drama coach Milton Katselas, the man behind the careers of George Clooney, Alec Baldwin, Tom Selleck, and Michelle Pfeiffer, Levrone has already secured a lead role in the upcoming Tritan-Northstar action-adventure film Backlash and is being considered for parts in several more.

Scheduled for release this fall, Backlash will star Danielle Burgio (Matrix, Pearl Harbor) and feature Ultimate Fighting Champions, Ken Shamrock & Bas Rutten. "I've always been good on-screen," says Levrone, who has starred in many bodybuilding films and TV sports programs. "Now I've really learned to take the focus, drive and energy I use in the gym and apply it to developing my acting technique."

Nicknamed The "Maryland Muscle Machine," Levrone holds one of the best records in the 58-year history of the IFBB (International Federation of Bodybuilders) and one of the most impressive physiques on the planet. First runner-up in four Mr. Olympia competitions (1992, 1995, 2000, and 2002), he has 22 contest wins, including two Arnold Classic titles and countless European victories since he went pro in 1991.

Levrone, who was advised by his friend and seven time Mr. Olympia champion, Arnold Schwarzenegger, to slim down to a suitable "acting weight," adopted a self-designed workout regimen and diet, shearing off 55 pounds and transforming a ripped 270 pounds of competition level physique to 215 pounds of lean muscle mass. Does Levrone aim to be the world's next high-flying action hero? "I hope to be the guy with brawn...and the brains. "
