Titus & Ryan Case
Murder For Hire Information and Facts
October 22, 2006

  • There are a lot of questions as more information comes out with how Nelson Ronald Brady Jr. is involved with Craig Titus, and Deen Cassim, and if this was a set-up or was this really an incredible situation, or was it jus about a book publishing deal? Also, many questions are arising as to why, if the facts of this case and the evidence obtain was completed on May 19, 2006, why did it take 4 1/2 months to arrest Nelson? Also, the declarations of warrants (event# 060522-1455) was executed on September 15, 2006.

  • Here are some of the statements from the Declaration of Warrants / Summons, in regards to this case. Police officer R. Wilson has been employed for a period of 17 years, and was assigned to investigate the crimes of Solicitation of Murder, 3 counts, committed on or about May 22, 2006, which investigation has developed Nelson Ronald Brady, ID# 1067408, as the perpetrator thereof. The following facts in the course of the investigation of said crime to wit.

  • On March 21, 2006, Detective O'Kelley spoke to Sergeant Forbus with the Clark County Detention Center (CCDC) Intelligence Section. Sergeant Forbus stated that he has been contracted by a CCDC inmate who had information regarding the Titus case who wanted to talk to detectives.

  • On March 22, 2006, at 1525hrs, Detectives Wilson and O'Kelly conducted a preliminary interview, which was not recorded, with Deen Cassim, ID# 1944564, in a second floor interview room at the CCDC Intelligence Section. During the interview, Cassim told detectives he had been solicited for the contract killing of Anthony Gross and the possible killing of two other witnesses in the case against Craig Titus and Kelly Ryan. Cassim told detectives information regarding the potential plans that he had discussed with a subject that represented himself as a friend of Titus. Cassim refused to provide the identity of the subject at this point in the investigation, however Cassim later identified the subject as Ronald Brady, Jr. Cassim explained that Brady talked with him about the need to get rid of Anthony Gross who was expected to testify against Titus and Ryan at the preliminary hearing.

Cassim believed Brady and Titus were in contact with each other, had discussed details of Titus's case, and discussed what needed to be done with Gross. Cassim said Brady gave him details about the use of a Taser only the police and Titus would know. They spoke about a possible $25,000 up front payment and a %25,000 supplemental payment when the job was done. Because Titus was concerned about paying the money up front with no guarantee the job would be done, Cassim suggested he could have the job done on his say so, and Titus would pay $50,000 at the end. They also discussed alternative ways for payment to be made.

Cassim explained to Brady how the deal could be coordinated from inside the detention facility. Cassim would contract a 'hit man' on the outside to kill Anthony Gross. Brady would meet with the 'hit man' or a go between and provide them with an envelope containing the up front money, a picture of Gross, Gross's address and the names of any bars or clubs Gross frequented.

Cassim said Brady talked about the possibility of getting rid of Gross prior to the preliminary hearing; however, Brady later came to the conclusion it would look better if Gross testified at the hearing and then disappeared. At some point during the course of several conversations Cassim made the suggestion to Brady that Gross could be given money and made to leave town. Cassim was told that would not be good enough because Groos was young, had ties to Las Vegas, and was facing his own charges. Cassim was told by Brady that Gross needed to be gotten rid of permanently and the body could not be found. Cassim said he knew Brady was in contact with Titus and possibly Titus's attorney, Richard Schonfeld.

Cassim said there was also a discussion about the possibility of eliminating two additional witnesses in the case against Titus, but that decision had not yet been made. Cassim did not know the names of the two people, but described them as a man and a women, possibly married, who had been over to Titus's and Ryan's house the night before the victim's body was discovered. He later described them as possibly staying in one of Titus's and Ryan's houses. It should be noted that witnesses Megan Pierson and Jeremy Foley matched this description: they were engaged at the time the murder occurred, and they were at Titus and Ryan's house the night before the body was found. Pierson and Foley have since been married.

  • On March 23, 2006, Detectives Wilson and O'Kelley again meet with Cassim. Cassim's attorney, Marty Hart, was also present. Cassim provided the identity of the subject he had discussed the murder for hire as Ronald Brady, Jr. Detectives determined that Brady was actually Nelson Ronald Brady, ID# 1067408. Cassim stated that Brady has been housed in the same module with Titus for an unknown period of time in the Clark County Detention Center before being moved to Cassim's module. Cassim stated that the initial conversations he ha with Brady had occurred while they were in the module together but that Brady has since been released.

Detectives spoke with Sergeant Forbus who confirmed that Titus has been housed in module &B of CCDC from February 19, 2006 to the present time. Brady was also housed in module 7B from December 22, 2005 to March 3, 2006 when he was transferred to module 2M with Cassim. Brady was released to the Las Vegas City Jail on March 8, 2006.

Cassim indicated he had a phone number for Brady that he could call him on to talk about the plans for the murder for hire. Cassim consented to have detectives monitor three way phone calls between he and Brady. Detectives developed a plan to determine the validity of the murder for hire plan conveyed to them by Cassim. Cassim would arrange for Brady to meet with Cassim's trusted friend, Edison. An undercover officer would pose as Edison. Brady would give Edison two envelope. One envelope would contain money and another envelope would contain Gross's photograph and contact information. Edison would then pass the information on to the supposed hit man named Fred, who would allegedly eliminate the intended target, Anthony Gross. Cassim explained that he and Brady originally agreed to refer the Anthony Gross as 'Number 23'.

  • On March 24, 2006, the first call detectives monitored between Cassim and Brady occurred at 1635 hours. Cassim called Brady on his cell phone. Cassim began the conversation by telling Brady that Edison was in town staying at the Bellagio until Tuesday. Cassi asked Brady if he remembered the thing they had discussed involving his friend, Fred, in Los Angeles who would going to put the bet on Number 23. Brady acknowledged he remembered. Cassim told Brady he was going to get Fred to do the job for $25,000 - $15,000 of which would be covered by Cassim's credibility. Cassim said there would be another $10,000 due on the back end, but it Brady was able to get Richard Schonfeld to take his case on appeal, Craig would only have to pay the $15,000 for Fred. Payment would not be due until the job was done. Brady told Cassim he had talked to Craig about everything.. Cassim reiterated the payment would be due when Craig was 100% sure the job was done.

Cassim gave instructions to Brady. He said Brady needed to place Anthony Gross' picture, address and phone number in an envelope. Cassim said he need not put a list of Anthony's hangouts because the job wouldn't be done that way. Cassim said Brady could put the pictures and information on the other two people if he wanted just in case he and Craig decided on them later. Brady was instructed he was to meet with Edison with the sealed envelope and $500 in expense money to cover Edison's travel to Las Vegas as well as the cost of the 'tools', which essentially meant a gun, to do the job. Cassim told Brady the $500 would come out of the back end of the deal unless Richard Schonfeld took his case.

Cassim told Brady he might receive a call from Edison later that night to set an appointment to meet with him at the Bellagio. Cassim asked Brady if he had the money to cover the $350 expense money for Edison. Brady said "yes… that's fine… it's well worth it… I'm glad you're doing this." Cassim told Brady they would know the deal had gone through when Number 23 didn't show up on a particular date. Cassim said when that happened, things would be postponed. Brady responded by saying "I definitely want this to go through".

Cassim said to Brady "I don't know what Craig told you about what happened, but it looks like this Number 23 is about 90% of the case against him." Brady then said "He told me a lot of stuff that's very incriminating. Number 23 was very important but also added, that the other two can hurt him"

  • On March 25, 2006, the meeting between Brady and the undercover officer posing as Edison did not occur. Brady did not show up at the appointed place and time. Several attempts were made to contact Brady over the next few days. Messages were left and Cassim spoke to Brady's father, Ron Brady Sr. Ron Brady Sr. indicated that he would attempt to help Cassim stay in contact with his son. Ron Brady Jr.

  • On March 28, 2006, at 1343 hrs, Cassim contacted Brady via telephone. Brady told Cassim he ran into a big problem - Brady claimed he was contacted by homicide detectives about the case. Brady told Cassim that he told the detectives Titus didn't tell him anything about the case. This alleged meeting between Brady and LVMPD Homicide Detectives never took place. Brady told Cassim the contact with police scared him so much he didn't want to meet with Edison for fear the police were watching him. There was additional discussion about the case and the payments to Edison.

Cassim asked Brady if he had any problems with the actual envelope. Brady said "No. That's easy, very easy." Cassim asked if Brady has a problem meeting with Edision for his girlfriend if necessary. Brady said he didn't have a problem with either one. Brady volunteered that he was going to contact Craig's family members to talk to them about the other two witnesses. Cassim said they may consider the other two once it's found out the main doesn't want to testify and goes on vacation. Brady said 'The one for sure, but we're not sure about the other two.

  • On March 29, 2006, at 1440 hrs, Cassim started a call with Bradly by asking him if he read the morning's paper. When Brady said he had not, Cassim told Brady about the transcripts of Megan Pierson's grand jury testimony. Cassim concluded by saying, "Number 23 is bad, but she's really bad." Cassim said he wasn't sure from the article what Jeremy Foley knew about what happened. Brady responded by saying "He knows what she knows." Cassim talked about a bag Craig has given Megan and Jeremy containing a stun gun. Brady said "They didn't use the stun gun on her. She got Kelly with the stun gun and Kelly got it from her. He told me everything dude." Cassim then told Brady what the article had to say about a struggle with a laser gun.

Brady said "From the attorney, what we were talking about yesterday with Fred, the attorney says 'Go ahead, whatever it takes.". Brady went on to say he had received the ok to go ahead with Fred. Brady said he had talked to Craig's family earlier in the morning. Brady said he had been given the ok to go ahead with all three before he was even aware of the newspaper article. Brady told Cassim he spoke with Richard, and Craig will get the attorney paid up front to handle things for Cassim. Brady said Craig gave the go ahead to do the money up front, but since the amount went up because of the other two, he needed to get some more money together.

Brady said "Tell me exactly what I'm gonna need." Cassim said "Pictures". Brady said "I can get the pictures. I know exactly how I'm gonna do it.' Cassim then said Brady needed the first and last names. Brady told Cassim "I confirmed things this morning. I'm more confident about doing this than I've ever been. I've got the ok from both families. I spoke to them this morning. Brad told Cassim he had run into some friends of Megan and Jeremy's the previous week and he now had access to more information through them. Brady said he was going to try and get the pictures later that night. Brady also mentioned he might be able to find pictures of Megan online.

Cassim suggested they could just stick with the plan on Number 23 only, but Brady interrupted by saying "That would defeat the purpose. I want them all gone." Brady asked Cassim "How long is the job gonna take?" Cassim responded "It'll be quick. I don't see it taking more than a week. They won't show up and they wont be found." Cassim told Brady the money on the back end of the deal would only be due after he was sure the job had been done. Brady said "As long as the job is done, I promise you."

Several other calls were made and monitored in the same fashion by Detective O'Kelly who took notes as he listened to the conversations on three way. The payment amounts were discussed as well as other aspects of the plan to give information to the hit man through Edison.

  • On April 2, 2006, Brady failed to show up for a second meeting scheduled with the undercover officer posing as Edison. Brady claimed he was on his way to the meeting when he was pulled over by an officer. No such car stop occurred.

  • On April 4, 2006, Detective O'Kelly monitored another call between Brady and Cassim. Cassim told Brady he has spoken with Edison and there was no possible way Edison would ever meet with Brady. Cassim recommended Brady save himself money by going to the west side and getting some gang member to do the job for $5,000. He told Brady it would be messy, the bodies would be found, but he could save some money. Brady responded by saying "Fuck that! I want to keep it with you and get the job done right. Just give me one more chance. I can transfer the money into an account. Whatever you want. I'm meeting with Richard Schonfeld tomorrow. However you want to do it. I don't want to do that because that's how people get caught." Brady continued by telling Cassim he knew if he got someone off the street to do the job, the bodies would be found and it would be messy. Cassim repeated "But you can save some money." Brady replied "No, I want it done by a professional."

  • On April 10, 2006, contact was made with Brady via a call monitored by Detective O'Kelly. During the call, Brady and Cassim discussed arrangements and up front money to be paid for the murder for hire. Brady agreed to meet with Cassim's ex-girlfriend at a Starbucks location. An undercover officer would be utilized to represent herself as Cassim's ex-girlfriend. Cassim explained how the deal was to go down. They also discussed the money situation. Brady claimed to be in possession of $10,0000 and he said that Craig's mother and sister were willing to cover the rest on the back end. During the conversation, Brady told Cassim he had another telephone number he was using to contract Titus's family. Brady said "Pretty good idea, huh? When it's said and done, that phone will be gone."

At approxiamately 1240 hours, Brady and Cassim had a phone conversation recorded on the jail monitoring system. Cassim says he gives up on this because Ron is not serious. Ron says "I am not going to do that to you. I want to go through with this whole thing." Later during the same call, Brady saus that he has spoken with Craig but it is difficult to tell him certain things. Brady indicates that Titus's mother is covering everything.

Brady told Cassim they still wanted to go through with the deal even if Craig got out on bail because Craig didn't want to leave the country. Brady said he thought Craig was going to get the $1.2 million dollar bail and be under house arrest. Brady said "They will be watching him." Brady said he thought Craig would want to stay and fight the case so he wanted the same deal to go on the other three. Cassim told Brady when 'number one' goes on vacation, they'll know about it within 24 hours. Brady said "I want to go through with what they decided to do. I want to go through with it."

Keep in mind that this is a declaration of warrant / summons, so that there will be a lot more in the future, but this is what we are putting up on Getbig.com for the readers to hear what the facts are as we find out about them.

  • On April 11, 2006, Brady failed to meet at the Starbucks with the undercover officer posing as Cassim's ex-girlfriend. Several attempts were made to contact Brady via three way which were not successful.

On April 11, 2006, at approximately 2250 hours, Brady received a call from Titus on a recorded jail line. Bready begins by telling Titus that he wanted to talk to him about the book publishing deal. Brady asked Titus if he talked to his mother about what Brady had told her. Titus said no - that she told him to just talk to Brady. Brady said that he had been on the internet to see which characters are going to be in the book. Brady says he knows how to keep those characters from being in his book. Titus said 'Yeah. No shit. Yeah, from the screenplay. Yeah." Brady says definitely and "that is what is in the making right now as far as keeping them out of the play." Brady says that he thinks "the book will go grat anyway and that he will make good money on it." Titus says "Yeah because. Yeah, I don't need them benefiting from the screen play anyway." Brady agrees and says "It is a guarantee that he will do just fine. You don't even know. I have been busting my add and I didn't think that the characters they we're going to bring into the book were for real and that, you know, that you'd really approve of them. Craig, I'm telling you this is the real deal." Brady says its just what he thinks they will have to go with to make this book work. Titus says okay, as far as the publisher goes? Brady says yeah but they want some money and I've been trying to drum up money to get these people to give their stories and that's what I need help with. Brady says he needs 'ten'. Brady tells Titus he is going to walk.

  • On April 13, 2006, at approximately 2055 hours, Cassim and Brady discuss on a recorded jail line that if Titus gets out on bail, the deal might be off. Brady stated he was told that nothing is going to change and that's all there is to it. Cassim said "So even if he gets out they still want to go through with it?" Brady said that's correct.

  • On April 20, 2006, at approximately 2112 hours, Brady and Cassim talk on a recorded jail line. Brady stated that he had more information on numbers 2 and 3 because they were involved in a transaction. They continue to talk and Cassim tells Brady that if this is not done by the end of May that he will call this off. Brady assures Cassim that Titus still wants to do this. Cassim says that he can always go and get some amateur to do it for $5,000 if he wants. They discuss why it has been so hard to get the money.

  • On April 21, 2006, at approximately 1437 hours, Cassim and Brady talk on a recorded jail line. Cassim says that Fred wants to have it done by the end of April. Cassim said that he talked to Fred into giving them until May 18th, which is 30 days after the bail hearing. Cassim explains that the money is not a big issue to Fred as long as Cassim assumes the credibility over it. Cassim also explains that Fred would be willing to accept an envelope with $1,000 in it and the envelope with the information in it. Cassim says that if by the 18th of May they decided not to do the deal, then they still owe Fred $1,000 for his troubles. Brady states that he is in contact with Titus every day.

Cassim stresses that he doesn't have to do anything. He said he does not want to pressure him. Cassim says that if they want this to happen, they need to make it happen before the deadline given by Fred. They discuss possible ways to handle the transaction with the two envelopes. Cassim says he does not want to lose the deal but stresses that it is up to Brady.

  • On May 17, 2006, at approxiamately 1156 hours, Brady tells Cassim that he is ready to do it and that he wants to meet at the same place at 1400 hours (2pm). Brady tells Cassim to call him back on the other line in a little while.

On May 17, 2006, at 1248 hours, Cassim told Brady he had spoken with his ex-girlfriend and she was okay to do the deal at 2pm. Brady told Cassim he would be wearing a nice shirt, blue jeans, white 'Jordan' shoes and a Rolex watch on his left wrist. Brady said he would be carrying a black briefcase that he would have sitting on the table when Cassim's ex-girlfriend walked into the Starbucks. Brady said his hair was black and spiked. Brady said "I'm on my way. I want this done."

At 1357 hours (1:57pm), Cassim was on the phone with Brady as Brady walked up to the Starbucks saying he was going to sit in the middle of the store. At 1402hrs, the undercover officer posing as Cassim's ex-girlfriend is heard greating Brady. Brady introduces his girlfriend Theresa. Brady was heard describing the two envelopes he was handing to the detective. One was for the attorney's fees and the other was for a book publication. The detective said there was $500 in the attorney's fee envelope. Brady said he would be able to give her the other $500 the next day, suggesting she meet him at his office. Brady told Cassim he had to put the rest of the money he had on Craig and Kelly's books at the jail, but the other envelope had everything there.

After the meeting was over, the envelopes were opened and the contests photo copied and impounded. The outside of the first envelope said 'publication info'. Inside was a sheet of paper with a photo of Anthony Gross on it. It also had the names and some information on Anthony Gross, Megan Pierson Foley and Jeremy Foley. The other envelope had 'attorney fees' written on the outside and contained five one hundred dollar bills.

At 1436 hours, Cassim confronted Brady about being short on the money. Brady repeated his claim of placing the rest of the money on Craig and Kelly's books. About the other envelope, Brady said "It's got everything in there dude." Brady told Cassim he could meet with his ex-girlfriend back at the Starbucks the next day. Brady said he would have the other $500 later than afternoon or that night. Cassim told Brady he thought he was trying to feel things out with his ex-girlfriend by showing up with half the money and questioned whether or not the other envelope had the information Fred needed. Cassim said "I don't want Fred to fly is girl out here and not have the information." Brady told Cassim the envelope contained the names, dates of birth, ages, social security numbers and pictures. Brady said he had the home number of 'number two' and the office and cell numbers of 'number three'. Brady said he also wrote something to throw off anyone who reads it.

  • On May 19, 2006, at 1455 hours, Brady mad contact with the undercover police detective, who was posing as Cassim's ex-girlfriend and handed her $500. The detective was handed the phone and verified with Cassim she had the $500 and Brady was writing the address. Cassim told Brady he would let him know when he sent the pictures so Brady could look out for the ail. Brady told Cassim the best address would be the office, but Cassim gave Brady the option of changing the address if he wanted.

The five one hundred dollar bills received from Brady by the undercover detective during this second meeting was impounded as well as the note that he wrote the address where the photos of the dead bodies cold be sent to confirm the job had been done. Brady says you have the go ahead, handle it please. Brady says "I don't give a fuck about them, I want them out." Cassim says that it will be taken care of. Brady says there is no problem with more. Cassim confirms that Brady gave him the authorization to take care of whatever. Brady says it is guaranteed.
