2007 Ironman Pro Contest Updates / Competitors / Info
January 3, 2007

  • On February 16 and 17, the 2007 IFBB Ironman Pro Bodybuilding competition will begin, starting off the first pro contest of the year. It is the only professional men's bodybuilding show in Southern California, and it will be in Pasadena, where it has been for the last three years. This year, for the first time, the top FIVE competitors who place will be eligible to compete in the 2007 Mr. Olympia.

On Friday, February 16th at 4pm, the Ironman Press Conference, hosted by Lonnie Teper, will begin at 4pm. This is always an exciting event, as we get to meet the first competitors of the season, their weight (with clothes and shoes on), and some questions and answers from them. There are always surprises at the press conference, and some sneak peeks into the next days' competition. The press conference will be held inside the Fit Expo hall, on the main stage.

On Saturday, February 17th, prejudging begins at 10am, and the Finals begin at 7pm, at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. This venue is a beautiful are, where they film the People's Choice Awards and other special events also. And many people have commented that the lightning and backdrops are probably the best in all of the competitions.

So who is competing. While we are awaiting a list, currently we have heard that David Henry is the man to beat at this contest, and will be ready and fired up, after being overlooked at the 2006 Olympia. Marcus Haley also plans to compete, as well as Mark Dugdale, Luke Wood, Moe El Moussawi, And Tamer Elshahat.
