Obama isn't driving them onto the welfare rolls, he's just making it easier to justify doing so.

It doesn't matter how bad the economy is, if you do or make something that is essential, and/or have the personal impetus to succeed, you probably will. When there are large portions of entire demographics on welfare rolls or in unemployment lines that should tell you something about said demographic.
