After this story was first reported I reached out to the BLM organization chapter in Texas. I was given a generic response and brushed off basically stating that they were aware of this story and it is not an issue that the organization is pursuing.

Black lives do matter yet Black Lives Matters doesn't justify heinous behavior by black people. One has nothing to do with the other. Yes, they need to stop killing one another at the alarming rate that they do. But, they go to prison for murder they rarely, if ever get off for crimes they commit. The same thing cannot be said for bad police. We/you don't need to point out bad behavior by one group to acknowledge bad acts by another as they happen. Get your shit together.
