Conclusions: Chemoprophylaxis with either oral hydroxychloroquine or povidone-iodine throat spray was superior to oral vitamin C in reducing SARS-CoV-2 infection in young and healthy men.

So to summarize: In a group of 42 who self-reported either spraying betadine or hydroxychloroquine, or taking vitamin C pills, the betadine/hydroxychloroquine group fared slightly better against infection.

did you even read that report, it compares the effect combating COVID using vitamin C against oral hydroxychloroquine and says that hydroxychloroquine is more effective than vitamin C......maybe try reading the reports before searching for a random link that seems to back up your facts

maybe if you understood anything to do with virology, or even bothered to educate your self on the subject even slightly you would understand why.   fundamentally the HIV virus mutates at an alarming rate not only from host to host by within a host, additionally the virus has an amazing ability to be able to hide itself from antibodies meaning that the body cant defend itself against it.
