As you should be. Great physique. (No h-mo).
Thanks and I'll make a serious reply here on competing.
I started using small amounts of juice by 1984 and within 2 years was "getting close".
At the 1986 NPC Gold's classic, I won Lt Hvy and lost the overall Johnny Stewart (MW ) and Wayne Grady (Hvy).
Johnny was a future IFBB pro and Wayne won the first NPC team U. in 1994.
The posted pic here was from the 1988 NPC Jr USA which Wayne took the overall.
I made the cut for the night show top 5 Lt Hvy ( out of 35-40 guys) .
I never showed for the final however. I met a cute , thick blonde at the prejudging
and went home with her after lunch. She lived 30 miles away, so I said stayed and had a great time.
Most don't believe it, but , I'd been off all juice for 6-7 months when that pic was taken at the '88 Jr USA
I had moved to Ky and was a piss broke , full time student. I transferred in previous credits but still had a yr to go.
The NPC Jr USA was held in Raleigh NC that year , and my old gym owner wanted me to compete in it.
He paid my entry fee and NPC card, so I dieted down, trained hard and came in pretty ripped but only 194 lbs ( I'm 5'10").
I did 2 giant sets of 8 exercises- 30 reps each , for my abs, 3 x week ,at the end of my pm workout.
Suffice to say, I learned a lot about the "seedy side" of the hardcore bodybuilding world in the 80's.
Learning that , ended my pro card quest , stopped using juice ,returned to school and a career in academic -physics.
Now, over 33 years later, I'm happily retired and married to my pretty soul mate. Not a bad trade off 'eh?
