In the latest New York Times/CBS News poll, released on Monday, 31 percent of respondents over the age of 40 said they supported gay marriage. By contrast, 57 percent under age 40 said they supported it, a 26-point difference. Among the older respondents, 35 percent said they opposed any legal recognition of same-sex couples, be it marriage or civil unions. Among the younger crowd, just 19 percent held that view.

The people can't vote....what would happen if they did? I'll tell u...alot of people would vote no..the wack jobs in Montpelier and Burlington would vote yes, and there would be no gay marriage in Vermont. Let people vote...don't legislate on stuff like this. Gays acn do what ever the hell they want. But when they have piss contests at gay pride parades...dress in drag...and blow each other in public...thus pushing their gayness in our faces, thats when most people have a problem.

I have watched the Evolution of Taylor right before my eyes and I am VERY impressed.

Taylor has jettisoned all the garbage that he was forced to deal with and undergo as child and teenager.

I am most impressed by his enlightenment and I know it will only continue.

If the choice was allow gay marriage or allow continued over spending and over taxation, I'd take gay marriage anyday.
Still don't understand why a civil union wasn't acceptible as it honored all benefits extended to married couples.  Marriage is really an institution supporting family, having children and propagating the species.
