Twitter owner Musk throws weight behind Republicans in U.S. midterms

Twitter's new owner, Elon Musk, threw his weight behind Republicans ahead of Tuesday's U.S. midterm elections, saying they could use control of Congress to act as a balance against President Joe Biden's Democrats.

He directed his Twitter message to what he called "independent-minded voters," writing: "Shared power curbs the worst excesses of both parties, therefore I recommend voting for a Republican Congress, given that the presidency is Democratic."

Not when the voter participation is from ballot harvesting. To be honest, most people should not be voting at all.

What do you mean when you say most people should not be voting at all? Last I checked the U.S. was still a constitutional democracy or a representative democracy. This means that our government is elected by citizens. Here, citizens vote for their government officials.

Think about it like this :

In many of the close " purple state " high profile elections, the dems just did a better job at getting voters to turn out and actually VOTE.

The MAGA republicans, keep saying the elections are fixed and make negative comments about early or mail in/absentee voting.
That tends to discourage YOUR voters from VOTING.
That's a dumb idea, if you want to win a close election.

If the GOP wants to win more statewide and national elections, the fix is easy.
Focus on issues that have a positive impact on people's lives.
Then,  ENCOURAGE them to go out and VOTE in the election.

What do you mean when you say most people should not be voting at all? Last I checked the U.S. was still a constitutional democracy or a representative democracy. This means that our government is elected by citizens. Here, citizens vote for their government officials.

Democracy is tyranny by majority. Most Americans probably can't name the 3 branches of federal government. Many don't have any skin in the game but have the same vote as a person who feeds a town in taxes. People who take out more than they give should not get to vote.
