Fuck, took one week off from squats and I'm sore like it's the first time I've done them.

I had the same happen to me.  Was on vacation last week, missed one squat workout and today it's like I haven't squatted in two months.

On most other workouts I can grunt my way through the weight/sets/reps I want to do, but not on squats.

I did them on and off for years and now I'm paying the price for trying to get back close to my old numbers.

I did a "pull" (oh brother) workout today, deadlifts rows pullups five sets each then some curls for the girls.

I will posting future updates exclusively in this thread as the thread on the G&O has gotten too estrogenic recently.

I've been winging it a bit lately myself.

Tested my lungs post Covid for the first time the other day - 33lb pack, did 6 miles in the woods easy at a 14m in pace........alll good.

Thank you.

I set an interval timer - 1.5 min rest (walk) / 1 min work (shuffle run).....comes out to 12-14 min miles depending on how hard I push the work part.  Have to be careful though that you don't run, because that kills the ankle and hip flexors with the weight.

Bingo  ;)

You can hit the numbers even w 30 sec shuffle

Yes, but honestly, doing it that way fucks with my music too much.  Every 25 sec the timer chimes to get ready, then again 5 sec later to start.  Annoying.

One of the gyms I go to added a sled and I did that instead of squats the last few weeks and when I did squats last night I was stronger.

Sled can be brutal, especially if you use the low handles.

Alternating between squats one week and sled the next. I like it and I find I can add more weight to the sled almost every workout.

Sled is awesome, but also fun.

All that functional shit - battle ropes, sled, mace, landmine, etc.......so much better than the boring.  Mixing it in with the basics is perfect.

What I've been doing lately is slow reps with hardly and time between sets.usually just a 10 count before I start my next set.
30 sec max when adding weight and have to load plates.I like this because I'm in and out of the gym fast but getting a great pump.

This is easier on the joints too.

While I was working out today I witnessed a young kid struggle to bench 205lbs for reps.In my mind I was just about to start mocking him and then the strangest thing happened. He actually was doing full reps :o And when he was continuing to struggle one of his buddies came to help him and he strained out a ''No'' and he then banged out a couple more reps.
