You may want to check with the show promoters about this, as different shows run differently. Here in New England, we used to run our NPC shows with fitness routines as part of prejudging, usually the first thing. And then the competitors would have to do their routine again during the finals just for the audience.
However, we have switched our format this year, and people love the new format! Now we run only the posing rounds during prejudging. Then, we start finals with the fitness routines, and they are judged then. Then the rest of the finals continues while the fitness scores are finalized. This way, the girls only have to run their routine once, and they don't mess up their color for the posing rounds by getting in and out of their routine clothes.
