I am a neo-liberal after all. 8)
Mods are overrated. I think if someone comes out looking like a tool then that is enough moding for me.
Even if its me.

"Contrary to what the name seems to suggest, individuals identified as liberals often oppose neoliberalism or do not support it entirely. Neoliberalism is not a version of the new liberalism of John Dewey, Woodrow Wilson, John Maynard Keynes, Franklin D. Roosevelt, or the British Liberal Democrats, which advocated limited intervention in the economy as a tool to benefit people."

Good Post.
I have FDR in my sig line because of his stance on the 4 freedoms.
Freedom of Assembly
Freedom Religion
Freedom from Want
Freedom of Fear

I part with him on how to get there.
I believe that the way to get to the 4 freedoms for everyone on earth is to
1. Minimize Government to its barest level.
2. Free trade through out the world
3. Democracy
4. Self sufficiency through personal investment programs like micro loans and other economic means.

I don't believe that the UN is the answer because there is too much self interest by all parties.
I don't think that unionism and socialism is the answer either.
I think through trade pacts that an increase can be obtained throughout the underdeveloped world.

However I am all for countries choosing their own model and working towards a goal.
For example if Venezuela wants to become a truly socialist state more power to them, but I would want the 4 fundamental freedoms maintained.
Canada's policy of offering Free trade in exchange of good government was a good model. Too bad Chretien left before it was fully implemented.

I wonder how that affected longterm asian porn/anime sales?

HAHA

It seems to me many great leaders and visionaries were also hypocrites.
Look at Jefferson. We the people didn't include slaves and women.
Also Fredrick Douglass after he received freedom and person hood for blacks, left the feminist movement.
The temperance league of America was instrumental in getting the womens right to vote. Yet they wanted to limit of freedom to drink and assemble.
