So a friend of my long term partner who is disabled physically following a car accident and needs a cane to walk qualifies for total permanent disability pension does volunteer work to the extent she can at a womens refuge. Other staff hid the daughter he attacked and knocked the woman to the ground and found his wife and proceeded to beat the daylights out of her. The other woman already crippled but now with freshly broken ribs manages somehow to get to her feet staggers towards the melee and hits him with all she can muster with the cane and manages to knock him out and saves the woman’s life in the process. Once upon a time the cops would recommend her for a bravery award. They told her - after interviewing her in hospital that she will be lucky if they don’t charge her with attempted murder. FTW.
