hardest bicep exersize ever....like E V E R!!!

Tried these yesterday....using what i beleive is called a watson bar ( a strange contraption that looks like the bottom half of a leg curlwith the pad etc ), used this on a preacher bench and im embarassed to say I struggled like fuck to get 8 or so reps with10kg, this is the most intense movement for biceps ive experienced in my 18yrs of gym training..

The bar is a watson curl bar extreme.... if you have access to one of these and a preacher pls do try and report back, will cut your weights by more than half...

Interesting leverage/extension device, for the biceps, which I had to look up.

 With something like that leverage you can make 10lbs feel like a 100lbs. Biceps don't care about the weight on the bar, just the amount of effort to overcome that resistance and make a full muscle contraction. Lateral, front and rear DB raises are also leverage/extension movements. As are fly's, to a certain degree. DB or cables, help yourself. Each exercise with the focus on leverage and arc of travel.

Also noticed that Watson  makes a Squat bar, with the weight load lower down the mid back and different hand positions. Another interesting piece of equipment.

Funk will know this better than I but believe  (way,way,way back in the day) they did make  leverage bars, with a weight on one end of the bar only. The leverage could be adjustable to lighter or max resistance. Did forearm/wrist/grip and biceps movement mostly.

We have the squat bar also, feels similar to a front squat, helps you keep more upright... Pretty good company, if I come into money id have a personal gym full of there contraptions

I tried the curl bar standing but its not the same as on the preacher, the pad doesn't come into contact until just before midway when standing and ut starts to annoy you, with the preacher, because if the angle its always in full contact = tension from a to b

We must have got a good deal, I couldnt see our gym owner spending anywhere near that much money...

I feel the same about Elitefts, they have great products, but shipping costs & import taxes are insane

Any arc welders out there?  Or even someone familiar with basic arc welding with a 1018 rod could probably make one of the curl bars from bar stock or even heavy tubing. Nothing fancy, but functional. Auto wreaking yards are great places to pick up scrap rods, etc....... if low on cash.

Going to a fab shop might be an option also, though better to have the bars cut to size by yourself  (could use a hack saw..which can give another benefit of getting a great pump for the pump freaks out there). Or have the shop cut and fit the pieces depending on the cost.

Shipping cost for just about anything, maybe more so for exercise bars & plates, can be almost as much as what you may be buying then for in the first place.
