Yo flower....bought my wife 2 females (sisters) for her b day in may .
They were born in march ...so their like 4 months old now.
Its a three ring circus at my house these days.
The coolest thing about having them is that they use a liter box!!
They were pretty easy to train too
We got a few books about them....they been to the vets a few times already for their shots .
They got their nails clipped twice and got their first bath the other day

Jk... Good luck with the new pup flower. Frankie just got neutered. I was torn since he is such a good example of a AB. But he was getting hump happy lol.

Emmett never got hump happy. Not with toys or other dogs, cept when Addie went into heat before he was fixed, then he stopped eating for 3 days and was obsessed with her! Briona my 1/2 dane is the alpha dog and will hump the other 2. ::) One time Addie did it to Emmet and Bri came and did it to her and I had a 3some going on! Poor Emmett was there bitch! lollz
Lol I remeber when you posted about that. I was going to let Frankie be but with his size and all the test he had surging I did not think it to be the best idea. He is one of a kind now lol.
I want to get a miniature bull terrier for him to have as a buddy.

Emmett was over 2 and I only did it beause after his night of being out roaming he started to mark everything and peeing in the house. I gave him a month and a 1/2 to straighten out but he didn't so he had to get fixed. Not sure what I am going to do with Tad. Addie is not spayed and while I don't think it would be physically possible for Tad to mate with her it might be pretty interesting! Could you see Great Chihuahuas? loloz
That would be an interesting dog lol. I would not call it impossible. if Addie was laying down and your little guy was determined it could happen lol!

The ones I have ....they have 2 totally different personalities.
Sasha is more of the lap dog attention whore while Mimi is the shy one.
They've bonded with the wife very strongly becuase she spends the most time with them.
I think they shy away because they are intimidated with our size and there only a few pounds.
I usually lay on the floor with them for a while each night when I get home....they don't shy away then !
When they play/fight it sounds so vicious but a lot of it is just chatter.
But when you pick them up they turn into lambs *l
And if you have recently fed them and you call them over to pet them but you don't have any more food to hand them then they don't want anything to do with you until this feeding coma goes away :)
As far as the training goes we used a reg size littler box like you'd use for cats with just newspaper lining it.
Take one of their crayon size turds and put it in there.Of course you want to monitor them closely and try to catch them thinking about peeing somewhere else then quickly grab them and put them in the box.
Because ours are now about 4 pounds each we got a bigger litter box.We bought one of those plastic under the bed storage containers...its about 3 feet long and a foot wide....maybe 6 inches deep....cut a small entry way in the side...line it with newspapers...I like to use the sports section when theres pics of the yankees on it.

They haven't been outside a lot....I'm going on vaca today for 2 weeks so I'm going to work with them some more.
We DO use harnesses...there necks are tiny so collars are out.
They are allergic to certian things too....i.e. garlic can make them very sick.
I think in time,especially because your a woman,that he'll get used to you more and not be so intimidated by your size.Like I said though sasha is a ham and likes being petted and held most of the time but mimi is skittish and occasionally like to be held and its always wifey when it does happen.
But when they fight or play they are very vicious....but turn into lambs when you pick them up.
Also when they're young they need to be fed like 4-5 times a day....after about 10 months only twice a day.

Liberty, did the vet ever recommend a sugar type of paste for yours? Not sure what it's called but it has to do with their size and sugar levels dropping?

You just have to work with him...mine listen to wifey more ,,,think its the higher pitched voice.
It takes them a little while to get use to you towering over them
No the vet didn't mention any paste but as I mentioned earlier they can be hypo glycemic (sp)
so its inportant they have food all the time when they are young.
We pretty much leave some dry food in their bowl 24/7....if they're really hungry they'll eat it.
But when the 1 can a day comes out they go ape shit !
Ours also run a steady cycle of play/fight for 2 hours followed by a 2 hour nap.
Then it starts all over again....its like this all day an early evening.
Then when everyone has gone to bed around 11 pm they'll sleep most of the night.

Hypo-glycemic, that's it. The breeder gave us a tube of this paste when we got him a year and a half ago. Said if he ran out of steam to give him some as a treat and bang he'd be up and at it in no time. I think we needed to use it a handful of times if that.

The wife is now brushing their teeth a few times a week with chihuahua tooth brushes and chicken flavored toothpaste given to her by the vet !!!

Mimi's all most stood up right away....sasha(looking at the camera) had floppies for a while...We didn't think they'd ever stand but finally one day the stood and now they always do.
Flower too bad you don't live near me (east coast)...I got 2 bitches and you got the stud.
We could clean up with 2 litters 400-500 a pup !
I bought them off a breeder in Rockport Mass. a seaside community.
That lady and her girlfriend who lives on the street breed them allthe time.
The day I picked them up there was an older female there.I asked the breeder who the older female was.
She told me it was the 'wet nurse' from her girlfriends house who comes down ocassionally to feed her pups!! Too funny...'wet nurse'

rancher - seriously these dogs are mental cases. i have never in my life laughed the way i do watching these two freaks!!
when they are that small, they get around faster and have a crapload of energy. craziness!!
