Why so Salty ??

Bidenflation is Crippling the American People's Personal Finances

Thanks to President Biden's out-of-control spending and destructive economic policies, inflation has reached its highest level in 40 years, with the Consumer Price Index rising by 7.5 percent from January 2020 to January 2021.

Image removed.

Gas prices remain at a seven-year high – levels not seen since Joe Biden was Vice President.

Image removed.

The average national price for a gallon of gas is at its highest level since July 2014.

Image removed.

An increase in the cost of everyday goods and services disproportionately hurts lower-income families. Real average hourly earnings have decreased by 1.7 percent because of inflation.

Image removed.

On top of rising prices for everyday goods, costs for other essential services like health care are also rising. Seniors are seeing the largest ever Medicare Part B premium increase in 2022.

Image removed.

Moody's Analytics concluded that inflation is costing American families more than $250 per month.

Image removed.

According to a poll conducted by ABC News/Ipsos, 75 percent of Americans said Biden's economy was "not so good" or "poor," while only one percent view the economy as "excellent."

Image removed.

Democrats' inflationary policies are hurting – not helping – the American people.

Biden's Foreign Policy Blunders Embolden America's Adversaries

President Biden's weak leadership and lack of foreign policy strategy have crippled the United States' power and influence on the world stage. Afghanistan has fallen to the Taliban, China has ramped up its aggression against Taiwan, Hong Kong, and the Uyghurs, and now, Russia has invaded Ukraine.

Image removed.

This invasion will have immediate consequences here in the United States. American families are already facing an increase in energy prices – from the gas pump to heating their homes.

As the Biden Administration chooses to react rather than lead, tough action is needed quickly to halt Putin's assault on Ukraine. Sanctions are not enough to stop this madman from further invading Ukraine and other Eastern European nations.

As a necessary first step, House Republican Whip Steve Scalise called on President Biden to immediately reverse his anti-American energy policies. This is crucial for America's economy and national security alike.

President Biden's poor foreign policy decisions have fueled the rise of the Taliban and Russia's aggression against Ukraine.

Image removed.

Last summer, the U.S. Embassy in Afghanistan was forced to evacuate after the Taliban overtook Afghanistan's capital, Kabul.

Image removed.

Vladimir Putin — and the rest of the world — saw President Biden withdraw U.S. troops from Afghanistan without concrete plans to protect Americans and Afghan citizens or prevent the Taliban from taking over the country.

Image removed.

Ever since President Biden abandoned Americans in Afghanistan, Putin believes that he will do nothing to help the Ukrainian people against a Russian invasion.

President Biden's bad energy policies have emboldened Moscow to expand its energy foothold throughout Europe.

The Keystone XL pipeline would have created thousands of jobs, helped maintain the United States' global dominance, and transport oil from Canada, an ally and one of the world's cleanest oil producers, to U.S. refineries.

However, President Biden revoked an essential permit for the Keystone XL pipeline, which weakened the United States' energy security in the process.

Image removed.

President Biden chose weakness months ago when he canceled the Keystone XL pipeline but allowed the Nord Stream 2 pipeline between Germany and Russia days after Russian criminals hacked the Colonial Pipeline. Why would President Biden choose to eliminate American energy jobs and American pipelines but favor Russian jobs, Russian pipelines, and Russian dominance over our allies?

Image removed.

Putin's aggression toward Ukraine can be traced directly back to President Biden's far-left energy policies that have limited American energy production and made the United States more reliant on countries, like Russia, for oil.

Instead of weakening domestic energy development, President Biden should turn to America's energy-producing states that could significantly contribute to an all-of-the-above energy strategy that utilizes American energy resources and protects U.S. energy security.

But sadly, President Biden, and his incompetent foreign policy, have created yet another example of America conceding on the world stage.

With No Rule of Law, Illegal Immigration and Crime Surge

Since President Biden assumed control of the White House, more than 2.3 million illegal immigrants have been apprehended attempting to enter the United States. This number surpasses the population of Houston, Texas – the fourth-largest city in America.

Image removed.

In January 2022, U.S. Customs and Border Protection experienced its worst January in history – with 153,941 migrant encounters. One year earlier, in January 2021, there were 78,414 migrant encounters. This is a 96.3 percent increase.

Image removed.

To add insult to injury, a court filing revealed that more than 62,000 illegal immigrants were released into the United States in January.

In President Biden's first 100 days in office, he issued more than 94 executive actions on immigration, including halting the construction of President Trump's border wall and endingthe Trump Administration's successful "Remain in Mexico" policy.

Image removed.

Now, as a result of the Biden Administration reversing President Trump's successful border security and immigration policies, migrants carrying illicit substances are attempting to enter the United States at an alarming rate. In January 2022, U.S. Customs and Border Protection captured 839 pounds of deadly fentanyl at the southern border.

Image removed.

Sadly, fentanyl overdoses are now the leading cause of death for Americans aged 18-45, and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration found a "direct link" between Mexican cartels and fentanyl-related overdose deaths.

Image removed.

Democrats' discontent for the rule of law enforcement extends well beyond their efforts to open America's borders and give mass amnesty to illegal immigrants. Violent crime and murders are increasing because Democrat-run cities slashed funding for their police departments and implemented anti-law enforcement policies that incentivize malicious behavior and let vicious criminals back into their communities.

Image removed.

The Fraternal Order of Police reports that in 2021, there were 346 officers shot in the line of duty, 63 of these officers died from their wounds. This is horrifying. There were also 103 ambush-style attacks on law enforcement officers, a 115 percent increase from 2020.

Image removed.

The statistics speak for themselves – Democrats' far-left rhetoric, policies, and actions have jeopardized the safety of our nation's law enforcement officers and vulnerable communities.

Supply Chain Crisis Sees No End in Sight

Pandemic lockdowns, vaccine mandates, labor shortages, and increased demand for consumer goods have created both a domestic and international supply chain crisis that directly impacts American families.

Image removed.

Materials and equipment are not being sent to factories as scheduled, shipments of finished products aren't reaching distributors, and congestion at ports and other transportation bottlenecks are making it nearly impossible for shipments to arrive in stores on your doorstep on time.

President Biden has failed to deliver on his promise to provide relief from supply chain bottlenecks – cargo ships are now simply waiting farther out at sea.

Image removed.

In a survey conducted by the National Federation of Independent Business, 64 percent of small businesses cite the supply chain crisis as a reason they have had to raise their prices.

Image removed.

Regular Americans are paying the price and experiencing the consequences of the Biden Administration's failing transportation policies.

Democrats Flip Flop on COVID Restrictions and Mask Mandates

President Biden, Speaker Pelosi, and Congressional Democrats have championed mask mandates in schools, even when there were no clear benefits for children.

Republicans have said from the beginning that mask mandates do more harm to children than good.

Children need to see facial expressions in order to understand emotions, process language, and learn word pronunciation.

Dr. Lucy McBride, a well-respected physician in Washington, D.C., believes that masks can negatively impact a child's ability to learn. In an interview, she said that children "need to see faces to develop emotionally and socially at those ages."

House Republican Whip Steve Scalise and Senate Republican Whip John Thune published an op-ed about the need to unmask America's schoolchildren and how Democrats' inconsistent masking guidelines are harming kids' social, emotional, and educational development.

Image removed.

Democrat policies, supported by the Biden Administration's guidance, are making it harder for women to return to or stay in the workforce. Mothers want to return to work or look for jobs, but onerous and unscientific COVID policies continue to disrupt in-person learning at schools and the reliability of daycare centers.

Now that the polling shows Democrats' handling of COVID is tanking, Democrat politicians and the Biden Administration are suddenly dropping their mask mandates and changing their metrics for mask-wearing.

Image removed.

The Biden Administration's vaccine and masking mandates and extended lockdowns have been devastating for America's children and the parents who care for them.

It's very hard to have rational discussions with partisans.  There isn't a lot of logic or consistency.  Fairness doesn't matter.  Truth doesn't matter.  That's why these young people are so emboldened to use violence as a form of protest.  The summer of violence after George Floyd, with very little consequences, started a dangerous trend.

Did you mean the political definition of partisans? If so, would you say it is easier to have rational discussions with folks who consider themselves politically independent or unaffiliated? As a conservative (which is what you seem to be to me), do you consider yourself partisan? Would you describe yourself as being a logical, consistent person with whom others can easily have a rational discussion?

To take this a step further. Are you suggesting partisans are all young people and given to violence because fairness and truth does not matter? In that light, were the folks who stormed the Capitol on January 6th partisans? They certainly were not all young, even from my old man perspective.

So a Democrat private citizen worked with a Democrat state legislature to pass a law targeting a single American citizen (a Republican), filed a lawsuit against that private citizen, funded by a Democrat donor, tried in front of a likely Democrat jury.  Crazy stuff.

“The fact that New York passed this law, the Adult Survivors Act,” CNN’s Poppy Harlow said. “They passed it just a few years ago. Were it not for that law, you never would have been able to bring this case.”

“Exactly. This would never – I would never have this window, this year of having the ability to bring a lawsuit for rape. Robbie can explain it better,” Carroll responded.

“E. Jean actually helped to get that law passed,” Carroll’s lawyer, Roberta Kaplan, said. “It passed last year. We filed – it was Thanksgiving Day, the first day you could sue.

CNN Host Presses Comey On Why He Failed To “Shut Down” Trump’s Campaign Statements As Hate Speech
April 3, 2019

There was a chilling moment on CNN this week in an interview of former FBI Director James Comey, by CNN’s Christiane Amanpour. In the middle of the interview, Amanpour asked Comey if he had wished the FBI “shut down” President Donald Trump’s “hate speech” during the 2016 presidential election. Next week I will be debating an advocate of such speech codes and the criminalization of hate speech at Rice University. This was a particularly revealing moment as one of the top personalities at CNN pressed the former head of the FBI on why he did not simply shutdown Trump’s speeches as hate speech. Amanpour has been an outspoken critic of Trump but this reflect more of the diminishing European view of free speech.

We have previously discussed the alarming rollback on free speech rights in the West, particularly in France (here and here and here and here and here and here and here) and England ( here and here and here and here and here and here and here and here and here and here). There are encroachments appearing in the United States, particularly on college campuses. Notably, the media celebrated the speech of French President Emmanuel Macron before Congress where he called on the United States to follow the model of Europe on hate speech.

Amanpour pressed Comey on why he did not simply send agents to shut up Trump: “Of course, ‘Lock Her Up’ was a feature of the 2016 Trump campaign. Do you in, retrospect, wish that people like yourself, the head of the FBI, the people in charge of law and order had shut down that language, that it was dangerous potentially, that it could have created violence, that it kind of is hate speech? Should that have been allowed?”

While I have been critical of Comey’s conduct during and after his stint as FBI Director, I was not surprised by his immediate and correct statement of the law: “That’s not a role for government to play. The beauty of this country is people can say what they want even if it’s misleading and it’s demagoguery.” Amanpour’s question succeeded in showing not just an unbridled bias against Trump but an unnerving view of free speech. In the United States, we are not “allowed” to speak by the discretion of the government.

It was an embarrassing moment for CNN which has been criticized for his relentless criticism of Trump and the airing of legal experts who spent the last two years assuring viewers that criminal acts by Trump were already well established. What was ironic is that CNN has (correctly) aired criticism of Trump who has called for new legal measures to punish those who voice what he calls “fake news.” At least Trump has been largely calling for civil not criminal penalties. Here was one of CNN top figures treating the criminalization of speech as a discretionary power of the government.

CNN has done nothing to correct the record that Amanpour’s chillingly anti-free speech message was not shared by the network.

The question was a disgrace for any news organization. CNN constantly calls for the protection of the free press with its promotion series “This is an apple.” Yes, that is an apple and Amanpour’s comments are anti-free speech. Perhaps CNN can call that fact for what it is.

Florida man arrested for Twitter threats against Rep. Lauren Boebert

A Florida man was arrested for threatening Rep. Lauren Boebert's life, according to federal court documents unsealed Friday, which reveal a series of menacing Twitter posts.

Matthew Lee Comiskey of Palm Beach County Florida is facing five counts of "Interstate Threat," for posts sent during September 2021. His indictment, dated May 26, was under seal until Friday, due to the fact Comiskey had not yet been arrested. Then Friday, the Justice Department moved to unseal the case "due to the arrest of the defendant."

I'm with Dr. Carson.  I don't know how long our country can survive given its current direction.

Dr. Ben Carson to Newsmax: 'Don't Know How Long This Republic Can Last'
By Eric Mack    |   Monday, 19 June 2023

Dr. Ben Carson expressed concerned about the direction of the U.S., amid the delays and lack of transparency on COVID-19's origins, a vaccine doctor's unwillingness to debate, corruption, and the unequal application of justice.

"America is the land of freedom and justice, and we need to maintain that," Carson said Monday on Newsmax's "John Bachman Now." "Hillary [Clinton] did things, others have done things. That's not the issue. The issue is, Are we being fair?

"And when we have a situation where we have people who can arbitrarily decide this person, we're going to persecute; this person, we're not going to persecute. What? How is that fair? That's like a banana republic.

"And we need to bring some consistency to the way that we do things. And, yes, there's an election coming up, but we really need to act on this before that. I don't know how long this republic can last with this kind of corruption going on."

Even efforts for transparency are struggling to get through to the America people, especially with the COVID-19 origins, Carson said.

"The Trump administration saw there was smoke and called people's attention to it, but the media just completely suppressed it and demonize people who said that there was any other theory other than it coming from a market nearby," Carson said. "And, as the evidence began to get greater and greater, you couldn't just sweep it under the rug without a big lump appearing on the rug.

"So now they're starting to say, Well, you know, maybe there's something, but they're still not coming across with all the information and there seems to be a reason to protect the Chinese and protect the reputation of the Chinese.

"Why are they more concerned about that than they are about the American people?

"And I commend Sen. [Rand] Paul for staying on this and pushing for exposure of all this material."

Carson, a retired neurosurgeon, also expressed concern Dr. Peter Hotez rejected podcaster Joe Rogan's $100,000 debate with Democrat presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for charity, but instead went on MSNBC unchallenged.

"We've seen this time and time again, just dismissing rather than getting involved in a debate and being able to express yourselves — and this seems to be a tactic that we see a lot from the left: Calling people names, refusing to talk to them," Carson said.

"It sounds like President [Joe] Biden doesn't even want to get on the debate stage with RFK. These are real problems. America has been a place where there has been openness. There's been transparency. That's one of the things that provides the liberty that we have.

"And when you see communist regimes, socialist regimes, what do they do? They shut down the discussion. Anybody who disagrees with them is either ridiculed or persecuted, and we see ourselves moving in that direction, and we need to be very careful.

"We're on the brink of turning into something else if we're not vigilant at this point."

The democrat cult is worse than ever.

Authorities Arrest Democrat Donor for California Wildfire Blamed on 'Climate Crisis'

Last summer, a large wildfire that came to be known as the Oak Fire scorched its way across California's Mariposa County and threatened Yosemite National Park. First reported on July 22, 2022, the Oak Fire burned more than 19,000 acres of land, cost more than $90 million, and evacuations forced the displacement of thousands of Californians and visitors in the fire's path as it rapidly expanded.

"Experts say dry air, strong winds, parched trees and grass and soaring temperatures caused the Oak fire to expand rapidly through the rugged foothills in recent days. The area has experienced nearly two weeks of triple digit temperatures and low humidity," The Guardian reported of the Oak Fire as it spread. "All this comes at a time when the state is seeing increasingly destructive and deadly blazes and the climate crisis creates conditions ripe for destruction."

Taxpayer funded (in part) PBS emphasized that the Oak Fire was one of the "devastating consequences" of the "global climate crisis."

California's Oak Fire is so large it’s visible from space, while 85 million people are under excessive heat warnings.

"We're seeing the devastating consequences play out in real time," @MichaelEMann tells @GeoffRBennett about the role of climate change. https://t.co/0ZX9ilxBnE— PBS NewsHour (@NewsHour) July 25, 2022

Over at CNN, Chief Climate Correspondent Bill Weir explained how a "'megadrought' driven by climate change that is affecting California and other western states has left plenty of dry, flammable material that can become fuel so quickly, especially when humidity is low and winds are high."

"The National Park Service is preparing for more wildfires to come as climate change fuels extreme droughts and record high temperatures across the west and Rocky Mountains," added Forbes.

Democrat politicians, such as Senator Alex Padilla (D-CA), also couldn't let the devastation caused by the fire pass him by without demanding "climate action NOW."

Thank you to all the firefighters and first responders working tirelessly under difficult conditions to combat the #OakFire.

Worsening drought and severe weather will only continue to put lives and property at risk from wildfire if we don't take climate action NOW. https://t.co/TG2djAM0OF— Senator Alex Padilla (@SenAlexPadilla) July 25, 2022

ABC News reported that a "bone-dry environment combined with scorching temperatures and ample fuel -- all consequences of climate change -- is what allowed the Oak Fire to spread so rapidly from the moment of ignition," according to scientists who warned, "as climate change progresses, we anticipate fires like this one to continue to happen with greater frequency and burn larger areas."

Well, there's just one problem: the scientists and climate change-pushing outlets here failed to consider at the time that the fire might not have been the result of a global climate change crisis and, instead, could have been the handiwork of an individual who financially supported Democrat politicians as well as the Lincoln Project.
This inconvenient truth comes courtesy of a report from The Washington Free Beacon:

Authorities busted a Democratic donor for allegedly starting a "ginormous inferno" in Yosemite National Park. Democratic politicians had insisted climate change was to blame for the blaze, which destroyed more than 100 homes and injured several firefighters in July 2022.

Edward Fredrick Wackerman (his actual name) of Mariposa, Calif., faces a number of charges including aggravated arson following his arrest on Friday.

By the numbers: The arson suspect has donated $1,775 to Democratic candidates and committees since 2020, government records show, including a $1,000 donation to Tim Ryan's failed U.S. Senate campaign in 2022 and $400 to the Lincoln Project, a disgraced liberal super PAC.

Maybe, just maybe, Democrats and other congregants of the Church of Climate Change ought to focus on the actions of their own ilk — mainly asking them to put the matches down — instead of telling Minnesotans they can't use gas-powered lawn mowers any more, demanding Californians switch to electric vehicles they'll be subsequently asked not to charge due to grid instability, and seeking to destroy the reliability of the nation's power system by forcing reliable and cheap generation plants off-line through executive fiats normally found to be unconstitutional.

Some forest management and the occasional controlled burn wouldn't hurt either to prevent any future (alleged) Democrat firebugs from sparking devastating infernos.
