Burst, not sure what you mean by that. If it snapped than you would not be able to walk and probably went to the nearest ER. Which case, after the X-rays and depending the state of the torn tendon, they would suggest surgery as soon as possible. Outcome, if you had the serious surgery, would be many month's of rehab. If the tendon rolled up the calf a bit, after the accident, that would be the first clue that you have a very big problem. If you just have a dislocation of the joint, slight muscle or ligament tear, that is much easier handled.
