Good for you on the pushups. Since I have not made it to the gym for a variety of reasons lately, I've been working out at home. Squats, good-mornings, pushups and crunches. I really felt the pushups....5 sets of 10. It amazing how much one can do without using weights.
Yeah...I like training at home at times.

nothing wrong with a walk. I think a perfect cardio workout is 2x a week Interval training(crosser) and other Days a long Brisk walk for most people. Not everyone likes or is made to run.

Doing cardio work really pays off. Last Friday, my blood pressure was 116/74 at the doctor's office. Even he was surprised by this. Walking is great. Running doesn't work too well for me these days because I fear I will screw up my bum knee.

Did 50 pushups and 45 crunches last evening. Tri's are feeling it today, but in a good way.

Just an experiment to see if I could make any progress giving the body a break by alternating light/heavy. The light weeks have left me frustrated and feeling like I didn't accomplish anything.

Perhaps you didn't give working light enough of a chance.

Little bit of everything, never hitting failure or even close, working fast.Did it for the last couple of months and while I did get a good pump, I just didn't feel the level of exhaustion like I do with heavy weight.

Manly. I haven't changed it. Lots of meat, nuts, veggies. As far as "unclean " foods, I snack on sugary shit the fat chicks in the office bring.

Legs:

Dumbbell squats 2 x 12 75lbs (All the way down with back straight and not bent over. Hold dumbbells at your sides with straps. Dumbbell came within inches of the floor as my legs were completely bent.)
Barbell lunges 2 x 10 105lbs (That's 10 each leg)
Stiff leg deadlifts 2 x 6 200lbs (Love the stretch in the hams and lower back)

Ab giant set:

Hanging straight leg raise:  22reps
Wheel roll out: 21reps
Twisting sit ups on incline: 18 reps
Pulley crunches: 30 reps
weighted floor feet up crunches 50 reps

Single leg calf raise on block holding a dumbbell 4 x 15 ( I find as I fatigue it's hard to keep from twisting. I hold onto a bar to prevent this.)

Neck work: I fold a towel and put a 35lbs plate on my fore head as I hang my head off a bench. I do two sets of 20 rep neck curls. I only use my hands to balance the weight and not to assist the curl. Then I do two sets for the back of the neck with a neck harness and weight. Lastly I twist my head using hand resistance for one set each side. This is my alternate neck work. I normally do things differently.

I'm doing alternate exercises from what I normally do for a break. One more week of this and maybe I will go back my normal way of leg presses, squats, leg extensions, leg curls and the rest. Like Bill Pearl suggests you should shake up your routine for both a body and a mind change. You can't keep banging your head against the wall the same way. Spread the pain.  ;D

Made it to the gym yesterday. I worked lats, lower/mid back, upper back and traps, after which I worked obliques and low back on the nautilus. Low back on the nautilus was mainly for the small muscles, under the thoracolumbar fascia in the low spine. I think it works glutes a little too. Everything was done with 4 -5 sets and an average of 10 reps. I skipped cardio just 'cause I wanted to.

The painters are here doing touch-up work so it's hard to say whether I'll hit the gym today or not.

My weight has been averaging between 180 - 183 lbs. I still have 175 lbs. in mind as the perfect weight for me....just can't seem to sustain it.

Delt and arms:

Dumbbell press standing 2 x 10 50lbs (went all the way down and up)
Dumbbell delt laterals 2 x 10 28lbs
Dumbbell rear delt laterals 2 x 10 35lbs
Dumbbell shrugs 2 x 15 85lbs

Single dumbbell two hand tricep extension behind the head 2 x 10 75lbs (complete range of motion)
Rope tricep pushdowns 2 x 12
Skull crushers 2 x 8 95lbs

straight bar pulley curls 2 x 10
rope curls 2 x 11
concentration curls 2 x 10 25lbs

forearm wrist curls 2 x 25 90lbs
reverse leverage wrist extensions 2 x 15 (used a dart bar for legs. Excellent for reverse forearms exercise

Ab giant set:
Hanging leg raise 22 reps
wheel roll out 21 reps
twisting situps on incline 20 reps
pulley crunches 30 reps
weighted floor crunches 1 x 55 with feet on a bench

Ironmind grippers 2 x 5 reps ( I find my surgically repaired arm weak on grip work)

I haven't done much cardio due to months of having an injury heal and a new one pop up. Every time I go for a run I pay for it for days . I think I'm close to being able to run without pain. I might start next week.
