Maybe Gregory served his time, has now returned to his family and has found meaning in something else.

I would love for there to be a twist to the story, whereby maybe he found Allah in prison and has become a devout follower of Elijah Mohammed, soon to marry a sister in the nation of Islam, but nothing suggests that might be the case.
