Richard allegedly got caught with some winstrol tabs when flying back or out of Orange County some years back....
Oh really Alex? This is news to me!!! First time I've ever heard about it. And if that were true, then how come I have a badge and a gun and drive a 'black & white' everyday??? Cook that one in your pipe!
Man, it's been a LONG time since I have visited/read Getbig! But if I can remember correctly, it doesn't seem to have changed much.
Anyway, to clear the air.....YES, I will NO longer be participating in competitive bodybuilding. And since Getbig seems to be the 'eye' of the storm when it comes to rumors, let me just tell you...I have NO health issues what-so-ever, NO injuries of any kind or whatever else can be generated from such an exit. I love and always will love bodybuilding. I will always train and eat right as long as I'm physically able to. But my life and priorities have taken shape for a different future.
Bodybuilding has given me a lot of opportunities that otherwise I would not have had. I started competing when I was 18 and it has instilled discipline, drive and the will to win. And because of that, I was awarded "pro status" in 2003. I could have walked away then and been satisfied with my accomplishments. I don't know how many times I have to reiterate this, but just merely competing in the 2004 solidified my career and exceeded my goals. Would I ever had been crowned "Mr. Olympia"
No way! I knew that coming in. And I certainly wasn't going to kill myself trying to chase something that simply wasn't going to happen. I'm ok with that. VERY ok.
Since then, I have completed my MBA, I have a BEAUTIFUL girlfriend, an awesome dog, a fun and exciting job and a nice roof over my head. Most importantly, I am in excellent health! It's all good and only going to get better.
But thanks for all the support and compliments! The true fans is what I'll miss the most!
What's the saying around here? "Hope this helps"!!
P.S. I don't read the boards and I don't plan on doing so or responding after this. So just consider it my final farewell.
Sincerely,
Richard Jones
