Court appearance - Tuesday, May 27th, 2008
« on: May 22, 2008, 07:33:41 PM »

The day after Memorial Day Weekend, Tuesday morning, 8am, will start the case.  Here, both parties will meet and discuss what is needed, and if they are ready.  There should be no more delays.

If all goes well, jury selection begins on Monday, June 2nd, and then the trial.

It looks like it will last throughout the month of June.

Yes, it will be videotaped, but whether Tru TV will show it live, that is not looking like it will. Court TV, when they were Court TV, indicated they would have it live, but with the new direction they took, perhaps highlights of the day is what we will get.

There are a number of media outlets covering the case.

Titus & Ryan ask for their trial to be postponed
May 27th, 2008
The Associated Press is reporting:

Lawyers for professional bodybuilders Craig Titus and Kelly Ryan are again asking the Nevada Supreme Court to intervene and postpone their trial in the slaying of their live-in personal assistant.

A Clark County District Court judge says Tuesday the trial will go on as scheduled next Monday in Las Vegas, unless the state high court intervenes.

Titus and Ryan are accused of murder in the death of 28-year-old Melissa James, who according to an indictment was drugged, bound, shocked with a stun gun and strangled before her corpse was found in the trunk of Ryan’s burned-out red Jaguar in December 2005.

In documents filed Friday with the Supreme Court, defense lawyers call the state case a “kitchen sink theory.”

They say the charges aren’t specific enough about who’s accused of doing what to let them mount a defense.
