Ok, so a guy who was Chairman of Trump's inaugural fund was arrested on charges that appear to not be related to his role as Chairman of Trump's inaugural fund?  Wow.  Enormous.

But, from the article:

“The defendants repeatedly capitalized on Barrack’s friendships and access to a candidate who was eventually elected president," as well as his access to "high-ranking campaign and government officials,” said Acting Assistant Attorney General Mark Lesko of DOJ’s National Security Division, referring to Trump and his top aides. “The conduct alleged in the indictment is nothing short of a betrayal of those officials in the United States, including the former President."

It says his conduct betrayed the President. So what is the point of the thread?

Unless you are showing that "capitalizing on access to a candidate" is a crime since the current president's son is under investigation that could potentially show that.  In that, case, thanks.

Is he guilty of what he is charged with or not is what it will come down to.   Who the President was at the time, who benefited from it, etc. are marginal issues that won't (or shouldn't) affect the charges he faces.  Either he did something wrong or he didn't. 

That said, it sure does seem that every time Trumpy starts crying "witch hunt", someone is charged with some crime and it usually seems to stick.
