Hockey fights were fun, mostly arm punches. Whoever used the others jersey to their advantage usually won unless it was a guy like Bob Proebert who had heavy hands and knew how to punch on skates.

I lived in Detroit during the Red Wings hey days back in the 90's.  Used to go watch them play then go to Cobo Joe's or Post bar. Great times. I remember some of the players would go to those places after a game so fans would pile in hoping meet one of the players. But other nights those places would be relatively dead and a random player or two would drop in.
The years they won the Stanley Cup were wild. There'd be a million people crammed into downtown Detroit just getting absolutely wasted all day and all night long.... great times.
