In a couple weeks I'm going to Loprinzi's Gym in Portland, OR. It's one of my favorite gyms! In the Pacific Northwest region, Loprinzi's is about as old-school as you can possibly get when it comes to gyms, as they've been in business since 1948 and still have much of the older equipment including a full set of globe-style dumbbells, an older Universal Gym Machine, and a handful of first-generation Nautilus machines. And it's a great environment for going heavy, as they have a lifting area with big bins of powdered chalk that you can dip your grubby hands into and not have to worry about keeping everything "spick and span." I can't wait!

An update... Loprinzi's Gym was great as always! It really takes me back to the glory days of 1940s/50s physical culture.
