I was basically forced to go to AA meeting. I was very skeptical at first, but it has definitely been a good experience.

Alot of good guys in those meetings that you can gain valuable insight from.

As for your friend.... If he has multiple drinks everyday and also drinks by himself, then he might have a problem.

Can you please elaborate?

Just don`t go do anything stupid like find religion and become a Tbombz.

Hopefully you took the info in that thread that exposed the AA 12 step program as a fraud and failure directly to them.

I found this absolutely useless.

You'll get past that. Down the road, you'll even be comfortable at parties and/or bars, if such things interest you. Wouldn't recommend it until you're dry for a year or so.

Good work.
A guy at AA today said that he once went 3 years without a drink.

He said he thought he was out of the woods. One beer from a friend and he said "10 minutes cost me 3 years."

Congrats bubby ...

If it wasn't for my "alcohol drinking" habits I'd probably had 4 inches less on my stomach .

No, I'm not suggesting the 'one or two' dance AT ALL. Only saying that once you're comfy and confident with your sobriety, you may be able to present at such places. Worked that way for me, anyway. My brother is the opposite, though, so maybe just disregard the bar thing.

But, yeah, "social drinking" is a losing battle for problem types, I totally understand that.

I'm sure most of us have a relative or friend that is affected by alcohol.  It can be nasty stuff.  I think we are all addicts to something.  Hell, I get nasty if i dont have my morning coffee.  I also find that I get fidgety if i dont have my stupid damn phone in my hand all day.  It comes down to realizing if its a habit that is bad enough to cause serious damage in your life.  Either way good job man and keep it up.

Shizzo do you drink wine?

I do like a glass of cold chardonnay on a hot summer day.

At first I was scared that my life would be dull without the buzz.

Now, I have a much more positive outlook on things.

I am just genuinely happier.

Happy for you. I rarely missed a week drinking in 40 years. I know the first thing that happens on those rare times I stop drinking is that I start getting really lean and my cardio capability goes way up. Keeping it bodybuilding related.

This is how you do it in a Shizzo congratulation thread.

This is not. :-X

I'm thinking Shizzo is thinking hard about April 2, 2015.

if u been clean one month that means u can stay clean. trust me man life does get better without all the alcohol and drugs, if u r one of those people that can just drink on holidays or special occasions thats ok,but im an addictive type of person where anything i do that feels good i keep doing it.thats why i got stay away from everything
