RIP George Butler was truly the person who brought bodybuilding into the mainstream. not Arnold, not Joe Weider.

I met him at the 1990 Olympia, nice guy. I believe it was he who wrote about going to Arnold and Maria's wedding, only to be relived of his camera at the entrance.

Pumping Iron remains the pinnacle of bodybuilding.
The plot, the legendary training footage shot at the original Golds, the editing, the bodybuilders/actors. Forty-five years old, filmed mostly in 1976... and it remains the single best thing bodybuilding has ever produced.
