It's basically a college campus. You had good counselors, and ones that seemed to not give a shit.
The food was surprisingly good: Steak, crab, full breakfast, snacks whenever we wanted.
We literally had movie nights, every night. They had brain scans, and other bullshit, but it is basically a cash grab.
Want to go to rehab? Take a cold shower, then watch 24hours of YouTube videos about motivational speaking.

What do they have to do with you abusing drug(s)?
Are you making this decision based on your health?
It’s either you have a problem or you don’t and if you are going there you must have a problem that you should address.
A lot of addicts unfortunately have awful shit happen to them where it’s too painful to speak about though.

I have family left. In fact it was family that coerced me, into rehab. Think of a Chrisley's type situation, where they control things.
I was willing to go to rehab, the first time. Now, I realize it's bullshit.
You either want to quit drugs and/or alcohol, or you don't.
You will make friends along the way, but are they friends?

Only thing I’ve found works for addiction is replacing a bad addiction with a good one. In this senecio replacing alcohol with working out or biking/hiking whatever

I didn't plan on ever using the ignore feature, but got sick of seeing oak's blatant trolling, so tried it. Then added shtizo and the forum flows much better without having to sift through that shit.....

Meaning? Yes, you pay for rehab. Most just have to pay a deductible through insurance. I, had to pay out of pocket.

I failed a zillion times, once you get sick of being a wastebasket, get back on the horse and start over and keep busy doing productive things.

I could tell YOU really didnt want to quit. It will only work when youve truly had enough.
I drank for 40 years (i love round numbers) age 13 to 53.
Now, zero cravings, it actually disgusts me that I did it for so long. Such a useless act.
Booze is a depressant, and it sucks. Like all drugs, it sucks. Best of luck to you Shiz-Nit..

They should teach people skills on how to control or minimize their drinking as opposed to abstinence only which rarely works.
I don't particularly care one way or the other for chocolate but if I was told I could never have it ever again, I would immediately start craving chocolate. Also, telling people they have a disease is the excuse they use to justify falling off the wagon.

Once certain people have experienced many wonderful times drinking, it's hard to tell them you can never have that feeling again.
It's like sober life is mundane and boring, and drinking makes even the smallest things interesting to me.

Rehab , for abc, xyz addictions, is just a start. It’s not a cure. It’s what one does afterwards that counts. NA, AA, GA
SA, CA etc etc is what 99% of the centers will recommend the addict attend after rehab regularly.

Some do. But there are a host of others like Salvation Army and county funded programs one can go to for free. Minus the private chef, aroma therapy bs , yoga etc. They will all tell you the same thing go to a 12 step program regularly. Basically a 28 day program is an extended detox with some education thrown in.
