Title: 2009 NPC USA - top three men will go pro this year
Post by: Ron on February 18, 2009, 10:56:19 AM
http://www.getbig.com/headlines/2009/02/18/2009-npc-usa-three-men-will-turn-pro-this-year/

For the last few years, only the top two men out of all the classes turned pro with the IFBB. This year, the NPC has added one additional slot for a person to turn pro. So instead of two, three competitors that has won their class will turn pro.

Also, the Bikini division has been added to this years show, with each of the class winners turning pro (six total).  Add 2 pro cards for Women’s Bodybuilding, and 6 pro cards from Figure, and that makes a total of 17 new IFBB Pros come the end of the July.

For those of you that wish to compete or attend, the event will be held on July 24-29 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

why not take a place away and have one winner go through like everyother country?

Yep - I don't understand why only the overall champ from the UKBFF gets a pro card in the UK. Is that the rules of the UKBFF or the IFBB? It should be the champ in all weight classes IMO - lets more fresh blood into the sport.

Sometimes the 3rd place finisher within a wt class is better than the winner of another weight class.

It could turn out that the top three heavywts are better than the winner of any other wt class.

Will that be taken into consideration when picking the top three for the pro cards?

Can all three come from one wt class this year?

I enjoy going to LV, but getting board of the same shows in the same places. Maybe have the USA in Alaska for a (colder) change.  LOL's
