I guess they don't refer to Adela as Ms. Fitness Olympia...rather Fitness Olympia Champion...but hey we're splitting hairs here.  Good Grief.  I'll take my spankings and get Julie to review my posts before I send them.   I should have known better.

Not kidding. The trademark laws require us to protect the mark. Get Big is a high traffic site - TONS of people read it and repeat the info seen there. I try to nip things in the bud quietly (hence the e-mail rather than posting) when I can as these things seem to snowball and soon the competitors will be calling themselves "Ms. Fitness" requiring me to send out official nasty letters and I really HATE to do that.

I know it seems petty, but I've seen what can happen too many times over the years. I'd appreciate your help.

Hi Lift,

I visit the boards most days of the week. As a former NPC promoter (long ago our company held two national qualifiers per year), I still have an interest in bodybuilding and like to keep up on things, and there is no better place than GetBig. It's a great forum. I even contribute at times, usually under the screen name Meshelle.

I used to promote our events on the boards here until the "Upcoming Contests" was changed to "NPC Contests." After the change I did not feel it was appropriate to post there any longer.

Getting flack from my posts is not uncommon. I've got thick skin, I'm still here ;D

Yes. No. And yes.

It's their standard email and it goes out like clockwork.  They have every right to defend their trademark and they should do just that.

Until someone challenges it in court, their company does own the "Ms. Fitness" trademark.  Now, one could argue that "Ms. Fitness" and "Ms. Fitness Olympia" are separate trademarks, with one having nothing to do with the other, but to my knowledge, it's never been challenged.
