Watched The Alpinist. Wow, what an honest, powerful, and inspiring documentary. I've often been critical of excessively dangerous endeavors like free soloing, and I've dismissed those who dare to do it as unthinking fools, blindly following their out-of-control impulses. However, that's not an entirely fair judgement—certainly not from someone who's constantly taken risks, too.

There is much to admire about these minds. They operate on a different level to most of the world, and they view life differently. As I get older, and more cynical, and I find myself despising people, this film was a nice reminder to keep being in love with the world. Love everything worthy of love, intensely hate anyone devoid of it, and give everything 100%. I don't like the idea of going away again soon, and if I get myself killed it's going to eternally piss off any part of my consciousness that can somehow survive death (which it can't, I hope), but life is to be lived to the fullest.

I also despise most people.

Back to work today, and the weakness in my heart sickens me. I have been enervated and softened by the love of a good woman these past few weeks, and such things are destructive to a defiant spirit. All I know is thank God for Jeff Beck, who has been on repeat for the last few days to give me the inspiration that I need to continue. Also thank God for wine, for if there's any screaming kids on the flight, they would be going out the emergency door without it.

I think I might just turn this rambling shitfest into a compendium of good music.

God, get me the fuck out of here. Can't wait to get home for Christmas. This song makes me want to line dance in a bar with a fat pig.

The huskier Ms. Lambert gets the more I want to lick her asshole.

My ultimate fantasy would be to walk into my kitchen and find her with her head stuck in the washing machine. Lord have mercy.

Hopefully, it's a front loader. That way you could pull down her slacks, put it on spin cycle and wail away! 😂

I have returned to home soil for 10 days in order to feast on vegetarian beef wellington and vagene. The tree is up,  Christmas movies are on, and my mind is steeped in a sense of gratitude and peace. The new year shall bring some fresh challenges and a new posting, but for now my only task is to become a fat cunt and play some Playstation with my nephews. A very merry Christmas to anyone gay enough to read this.

Caught the fucking flu on Christmas evening! Typical. Bloody kids always seem to have every bug going, and it hits me like a ton of bricks whereas the girlfriend is absolutely fine. Wishing you a great New Year, Taff.

That's what I'm fearing. I've booked some stupid 2-day event at a nice resort for it, and she will probably just be dying in bed now. I'll just smash the gym and pool.

Alka-Seltzer cold and flu should get her through the 2 days.

Thank you, Wes. 2025 is your year of regeneration—I believe that. Be relentless and give that disease one of your patented headbutts. You're just getting started.

As Taffin replied to your post, “that'd be me then!!” LOL!

Thank you for this post. I have never heard of vegetarian beef wellington before now. I see that there is quite a variety of recipes available for this online, including vegan wellington. My daughter is a vegetarian, so it is good to learn about new and different vegetarian dishes. I enjoy fixing a variety of vegetarian meals she will enjoy on special occasions, such as Christmas dinner. What is your recipe for vegetarian beef wellington?

I really enjoy vegetarian cooking. It's certainly something that people find strange to learn about me in real life, and it obviously invites harmless piss-taking from my friends, but, truth be told, it is the greatest thing I've ever done.

A lot of the vegetarian dishes are so well made now that I don't often even have to make them from scratch. There's great-tasting wellington, steak-substitute pies, and Quorn meatballs in supermarkets now, and I buy these whenever I'm home. However, for Christmas, I like to make my chestnut and blue cheese pie (or wellington/parcel, etc.).

Puff pastry
A good blue cheese
Onion
Garlic
Whole chestnuts
Veg stock
Cream
Salt/pepper

I just use the store-bought pastry as it's quicker. I fry the chopped onion and 2 garlic cloves on a low heat. Chop up the packet of chestnuts and throw it in. Add a little veg stock, crumble in the blue cheese, then thicken with cream. Season to taste. Once that's all nicely done and thickened, I spoon it on to the pastry parcels/ add to the pie dish then bake. Everyone I've fed it to says they love it (they might be lying pricks, of course, but I think it tastes great).

My partner also insists I do the roast potatoes every year. I use the method of boiling them almost to death beforehand. Cool them down, then cover them in a big helping of olive/veg oil mix and roast on a high heat. To season, I fry some rosemary until it's crispy, chop it up, and mix it with a lot of salt and some garlic powder. This gets coated on the spuds when they come out the oven.
