To defend mcway here - He would not have known that to be his life if he was born in mexico.

Just like none of us could look at the life of, say, Bush II and say "Yes, it would be worth it to break the law to grow up wealthy, attend yale, have such connections, and become gov and president..."

It just wasn't in the cards for us to grow up a Bush, and it wouldn't be right ot break law to have that.  We abide by the laws in place, and the situation, as we were born.  MCWAY had a good life, and he was born into a good situation, but not good like being born a Bush.

Now, some kid born in Mexico, he doesn't have the same blessing as MCWAY, and he's not right to break the law to have that life.

Actually you have just inforced what the study says.
You are a conservative and when presented with data that suggest people are less educated in the south and vote republican you use your own experience( i have spent a lot of time in the south...) as data.
Its called making up your own facts and is not based in science but in your mind.
Kind of like how repub could not see the loss in the election because their minds told them something else.
This blind disregard for facts is what makes the republicans a laughing point now.

My personal experience isn't science.  It's just my experience.  And I probably have a more informed opinion about people in the South than someone who has probably never been or spent time there.  Just like someone who has spent time in Montana (one of the few states I haven't been to) would have a more informed opinion about people in Montana than me.
