Not sure which one clicked on and the briefly watched but in it during their posing routines many of  them were behaving like pole dancers.  Gross.  I'm surprised the schmoes didn't throw dollars on the stage.

If it's the girls in the sauna feeling up DeMey, that's the 1991 show.

If it's Robinson shooting ninjas, it's the 1992 version.

If Strydom had a good back, the 91 WBF showing would have been the greatest bodybuilding display of all time. No homo. The rest of his physique that was unmatched as far as the size, shape, condition, symmetry, etc. Yates was harder, but not as aesthetic. Ronnie's calves were pathetic and didn't have a very pleasing looking body. Strydom here was a huge Benfatto or Paris... Just with no back. It's a shame.
But he didn't. Just like Nasser. And chances are, just like Nasser, Yates (with arms) would decimate Strydom, and so would Ronnie.
I was ways impressed by Strydom's delts and chest.

Not in 1991. Ronnie was still an amateur, just winning his class at the Universe when Strydom was WBF Champion.
As for Dorian, he'd just won the 1991 NOC, which Strydom won in 1988 (I think). But, of course that wasn't the Strydom of the early 90s.

Yates was basically Mike Christian with legs. So, the matchup would have been interesting. But, decimating Strydom? I'm not so sure of that.

If back were all it took to beat somebody, Tony Pearson and Mike Christian would have been Mr. Olympia or WBF Champion.

most looked offseason,or 4/5 wks out ifbb condition if we are comparing 'peak'condition.strydom great, demay very close to best, robinson took it seriously cause he turned pro 89 and actually won 90 niagra falls show he could have been great in prime ifbb if he did it 'oh well',Christian was about 85/90 his best, dearth again was a newer pro so he was pretty good, baker actually was smaller than when he won usa's /softer.rest were off as I stated 1st line.

You call this offseason?

but he had no biceps either which hurts him in a million poses.

great legs delts and chest. good abs.

terrible back and no bis to speak of.

ronnie would crush him and so would yates.

In 1991? Yates....would have been interesting. Coleman? He was still an amateur. So neither one of them could have crushed Strydom then.

Actually, Johnnie Morant competed in the IFBB after turning pro in 1989. He placed 4th at the 1990 Night of Champions, behind Danny Padilla, Dorian Yates, and the late Mohammed Benaziza.

Jim Quinn won the North American in 1990. Johnnie Morant won it in 1989, as did Lenda Murray.

Debbie Muggli won the women's North American title in 1990.

Padilla placed 3rd at the 1990 NOC, actually beating Morant. At the Gold's Classic, he placed 2nd (after a 9-year reprieve) behind future-fellow-WBFer, Eddie Robinson.

Since you mentioned Baker, I've always stated that, if anyone should have been suspected of maybe bucking the test in 1992, it was the "Dark Angel". He was the only one who was actually bigger (and better) in '92 than in '91.

But, how would he do that? Mutiple WBF guys have stated everyone was tested. Christian (though he claimed Strydom was exempt) got popped and fined a month's salary ($25K).

I don't know. He was long in the tooth, as was "Jetman" Tony Pearson.

I thought Pearson got robbed in 1992. He should have made the top 5, instead of David Dearth (pyro guitar and all).

Baker looked bigger to me in '92. Maybe it was his mane tied up that did the trick.

I'm talking about in the respective time periods--the Yatesian Era and Coleman Era.

You're referring to David Dearth's routine. I would have put Tony Pearson in the top 5, instead of him.

Since so many folks are complaining about the 2014 Olymia, why not go back to (perhaps) a more entertaining show from 23 years ago?

Vince McMahon had a hard on for big bulky men.

Where is that gif of him reacting to poses when you need it? ;D
