Someone please explain pgp encryption to me

How/where is the best way to set up, send and receive pgp messages?

Im sure a lot of people on a board like this would benefit from anonymity tools

Maybe ignorant but Id really like to use pgp but so many sites and explanations its confusing

I basically understand I have a public and private pgp key as do others that use it and then there is a way of encoding and decoding mesaages
