Politicized Scholars Put Evolution on the Defensive
« on: November 29, 2007, 06:46:24 AM »
The Discovery Institute is a think tank based in Seattle, Washington, best known for its advocacy of intelligent design.

Current projects explore the fields of technology, science and culture, reform of the law, national defense, the environment and the economy, the future of democratic institutions, transportation, religion and public life, government entitlement spending, foreign affairs and cooperation within the bi-national region of "Cascadia."

"A closer look shows a multidimensional organization, financed by missionary and mainstream groups - the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation provides $1 million a year, including $50,000 of Mr. Chapman's $141,000 annual salary - and asserting itself on questions on issues as varied as local transportation and foreign affairs."

"Their credentials - advanced degrees from Stanford, Columbia, Yale, the University of Texas, the University of California - are impressive, but their ideas are often ridiculed in the academic world."

ID should be ridiculed b/c it has all the scientific validity of astrology.

I have concluded that sentimental religious people want ID taught to lend support to their 'god-centered' view of life and impose that view on as many people as possible to spread the word.

Any alleged scientific quality to ID is window dressing to mask the religious proselytizing that is really taking place.

Some "academics"... They can't even come up with their own material, they have to go about plagiarizing Harvard: http://www.getbig.com/boards/index.php?topic=183173.0

Perhaps they can answer my challenge? Coz you sure can't, loco ;)  http://www.getbig.com/boards/index.php?topic=168448.0
