Only because Ortiz is getting on in years and struggled too much with Charles Martin will I go with Fat Andy by late TKO or decision. I'm rooting for Ortiz and hoping he knocks that fat fuck out cold.

Mismatch....Ortiz is championship material, Ruiz is a B level fighter who had one good night.

Eh... IDK about that, Andy gave Joe Parker a close fight too. But he completely blew the rematch with AJ by showing up totally out of shape. And he's looked pretty average in his few comeback fights. He's lost weight but it doesn't seem to have done him any good. It's like he's weaker.

Because Andy has fast hands and Ortiz is ancient I'm gonna say Ruiz by decision. But this really is an odd match up- a good match up but odd. Ortiz is well schooled and is a good boxer I could see him controlling the fight with his jab the way AJ did in the rematch but again Ortiz is old and slow. So I think Ruiz faster hands will be the difference.

LOL Ortiz's legend is built off of building up Wilder's profile.  Ortiz is not even a legendary Cuban heavyweight (Teófilo Stevenson), doesn't even have the accolades of Gold Medals and World Championships like Rigodeaux, Lara, Gamboa, etc, more of the modern Cuban fighters.

I don't deny he is a crafty southpaw for a big man but his birth certificate is showing on his legs.  Fat Boy will be able to close the distance and let off those rapid combos (the fastest hands in the division).

Ruiz SD so PBC can make the fight with Wilder in Vegas or LA and hustle Mexican fans for another PPV.  No value in Wilder/Ortiz 3.

Ruiz is too thick in the waist so he can't bend or move his head off of the central line.  Wilder is going to knock him out like he did Breazeale.

Take into account that Wilder has dropped all the bulk he added for Fury so he is going to be lightning fast vs Helenius and Ruiz.

The card is BS with midgets on the undercard. This should be a stacked heavyweight card.

God damn straight he would. In the same night too.

After flattening Ortiz Bhanks get him in a fireman's carry and do ass to grass squats then proceed to make Ruiz spit his teeth out like chicklets.

How could Blank NOT?? I am sure neither of those flabby fcks has any “takedown defense” (almost makes me piss myself even typing this nonsense). Blanks would possibly kill one of ‘em if not both.

This douchebag just keeps the laughs coming. Brian is right there with that fat slob Blaha in his fantasy. In fact I dub him “Blahank”.

Both looked like shit. Ortiz has zero punch resistance left at 50 years of age. Ruiz was way too inactive and tentative. Ortiz won most of the rounds that he wasn't dropped in... something like 8-4. Wilder is going to kill Ruiz if they make that fight.

Yeah, a bit of a snoozefest.  I get that boxing a southpaw has its challenges, but Ruiz was about as active as Joe Biden on a Friday night after his pudding.

I'd love to see Wilder against Ruiz.  The fat one has great pop from either hand and could make it a challenge for the stationary Wilder - and recall that Wilder loses most rounds unless he scores a knockdown or KO.

I know you guys all say I am small but I don't pass the eye test for a sanctioned middle aged combat sporting event. I will get booed out of the arena. Also the risk of injury and training delays is too great even when you win a fight you lose something gets pulled or tweaked and you can't train.

1. I thought Ortiz won 8 rounds. Possibly 9.

2. Broadcasting team is the worst in the business.

3. Overall it was a pretty entertaining night of fights. Wouldn't mind seeing more Sunday night boxing. That being said would love to know who actually paid $75 for it. Fuck that.

LOL, it was a 113-112 fight even with fatboy's 3 knockdowns.  ortiz old with no legs still was the effective aggressor all night.  the last knockdown won the fight for ruiz.  this guy's legend is based on catching joshua with a temple shot when joshua was rushing in to finish him. yeah, the hands are the fastest in the heavyweight division but he is the lazy bum bob arum always called him.  ortiz is over 50 based on guys who trained with him in the amateurs.  ruiz vs wilder

Fat boy fight was boring.

The pitbull Cruz fight was actually decent.

There was a better fight in the stands.

Lots of little cholo staches in that crowd.

Mexicans LOVE to fight. They are born into that.

When i lived in Houston they had amateur boxing matches at two local boxing clubs every Friday night.

We stopped going because there were so many fights.

And every single time it was a bunch of 5'6 cholos.

Early UFC proved that wrestling will dominate all martial arts or combat sports.
Of course now, its all included in the art, wrestling, BJJ, submission, etc. And many are dangerous.

But yup, good wrestler vs a boxer, he'd be on the ground and wrapped up in seconds (the boxer)...

That was the most exciting UFC. When it was new. I remember that boxer who wore only one glove getting destroyed.
