Because of what they "could" do, with 1985 mustard gas or by raising their oil prices.

Prevention is better than cure right?

Germany held no threat to the USA, why did you send manned missions to Germany?

The japs invaded Pearl harbour. Germany then declared war on the USA in December 1941.

SERIOUSLY?

They weren't an immediate threat to the USA.

How many attacks did the Nazis perform on US soil?

lol

I'm not saying the USA wasn't correct in taking up war against Germany.

I'm just playing devils advocate with 240's usual stance.

Yes, but you cannot exactly compare Iraq to Gremany. Germany swiped whole of europe with war and with its ally Japan whole of Asia too.

Iraq was a pisspoor country struck by UN oil-for-food policy. Not that it wasn't a bunch of islamistic excuse me, monotheistic criminals though.

Of course, the only real significant comparison that can be made between Saddam era Iraq and Nazi era Germany is the dictatorship regimes - past that there are very few comparisons.

Step back and look at the facts:

The US invaded a nation which had not attacked us.
We deposed the leader and killed his sons.
We captured the leader, and turned him over to a govt we created, and they killed him for crime he did against iraqis.

You can justify it any way you wish.  We invaded another nation and changed the course of that nation's history, even though that nation had done nothing to us.  Because of what they "could" do, with 1985 mustard gas or by raising their oil prices.

What nation is next?

nation building at it's best..little georgie swore up and down the us wasn't in the nation building business...guess he misspoke.

who's next? how about iran, north korea, anywhere in africa...

Boy these comments sound awfully familiar.   ::)

Human Rights Watch Director Richard Dicker

"Saddam Hussein was responsible for massive human rights violations, but that can't justify giving him the death penalty, which is a cruel and inhuman punishment," Dicker told The Associated Press.

Amnesty International U.S.A. Director Larry Cox

"The rushed execution of Saddam Hussein is simply wrong. It signifies justice denied for countless victims who endured unspeakable suffering during his regime, and now have been denied their right to see justice served."
