Hilary pwned Obama by 9 points in Penn primary.

Today, Obama is leading McCain by 9.1 points in Penn.

Obama also leads in Ohio, which Mccain NEEDS.
And the trend in FL is an interesting one...

I still think McCain wins by 4% in the end.

His tax, foreign, energy, and entitlement policies are nothing but a foolish repackaging of current Bush policies.

I think President McCain would be bad for America the way Bush was harmful to our country.

Negative ads, the republican electoral machine and Obama's skin color are the major factors that will hand the presidency to McCain.

Washington-[/b-In tesnsified attacks by Republican John McCain on the character of his Democratic opponent have coincided with Barak Obama losing a 9 percentage point advantage in a national poll, which showed the candidates running dead even over the weekend.

-from the Associated Press

Obama is in trouble.  He better get a big convention bounce.

I think McCain wins because Obama is a quasi-socialist and most Americans are not.  Also, the fact he is a Halfrican American and many voters have race issues will play a role.  The fact we are fighting two wars and McCain would be a better CIC will be a major factor.  And when Obama is forced to talk about issues in debates as we near November, many independents will be scared off.  When millions of Americans start hearing about how he wants to raise their taxes, they will not be happy.

A dead heat in national polls.  Do national polls = win in election?  No, Mr Gore.

In state-by-stae polls, it is certainly NOT a dead heat.

Read up on the election process.  We have thing this called the 'electoral college' which decides the winner based upon state-by-state findings, not nationwide.

She probably would have been in bigger trouble than Obama.

I don't think so.   IMO....The problem with Obama as far as the voters are concerned is the unknowns.

Hillary's negatives would have killed her.  People hate that woman.  She would have really energized the Republican base.

The "knowns" are a problem for Obama too.  He's far too left of center.

In the minds of savy voters in the know i think you are right.  In the minds of typical voters not in the know, Hilary or McCain is a safer proposition.

But again,  it's the democrats serving up another crap candidate.

I pretty much agree.  I am amazed at how close this man is to the White House.  He's not ready to lead IMO, particularly the military.

Bush has said that he'll leave the decision making in Iraq to the commanders on the ground.

Isn't that odd?  You're leaving the men who make war, in charge of deciding how much was we NEED?

What if JFK had left the Cuba decision making to the generals?  WWIII, that's what, Tom.

Obama has said to Patraeus himself, that he'll take his advice into consideration, but that the CIC is the one who ultimately makes the decisions.

I think that got lost in the last few years.  Patraeus isn't the decider - the president is.  Bush leaving the decisions about war in iraq to Patraeus is insanity that most don't recognize.

Leaving the decisions to BUSH has proven to be insanity.

whole nother debate there.

bottom line is that bush adn mccain act like Obama hates the military because he doesn't want to heed the advice of the military men.

Those military men - the commanders - are only advice givers.  They're not the decision makers.  If JFK had listened to them, WWIII would have occured, we would have shot down US planes and blamed Cuba, etc.  (Operations Northwoods ring any bells?)

Bush acts like Obama is unpatriotic because he doesn't blindly follow everything the generals recommend.

The generals have a job - make and win wars.  The CIC has a bigger job - manage wars while taking into consideration our national budget, foreign relations, etc.  Patraeus has ZERo concern with the US economy, how Euro feels about us, etc.  His expertise is the war in Iraq.  He doesn't have any mindset of the bigger picture - the president does.

None of those guys believe that sh1t.  It's all political propaganda aimed at manipulating voters.

Obama will head the advice of his Generals just as McCain will.  But the final decisions will come to the pres.
