Texas hair salon owner re-opens defying stay at home....and gets 7 days in jail for it - not for defying the order but for not cowering to the judge saying she should apologize to the govt.

Judge Eric V Moyé, of the 14th Civil District Court of Dallas, told Luther on Tuesday that he would consider a lighter sentence if she admitted that she was wrong and apologized to the elected officials whose orders she violated.

"I have much respect for this court and laws. I have never been in this position before and it's not someplace that I want to be," Luther responded, according to CBS Dallas Fort Worth. "But I have to disagree with you, sir, when you say that I'm selfish because feeding my kids — is not selfish. I have hair stylists that are going hungry because they'd rather feed their kids. So sir, if you think the law is more important than kids getting fed, then please go ahead with your decision but I am not going to shut the salon."

She also gets a big donation from people tired of the bullshit.

What "law" exactly?

When did every single city or state government get together draft a bill and pass a law?

Nobody "passed a law", not a single state, city or local government.

I believe she is referencing the broader term "rule of law". This judge is the perfect example of why we need to be mindful of limited govt. Rapid increases in power equal rapid abuses of power.

Agreed but besides this case, people all over the US are being arrested and/or detained, fined, etc for breaking some invented-out-of-thin-air "social distancing and mask wearing law"

Nobody anywhere in any city or state put a bill forward, voted and/or signed into law anything about mask wearing or social distancing.

Yet the police all over the country are told to enforce some mysterious law thats not on the books

Both sides of Congress in Ohio are passing a law that says the health director for the state cannot shut down the state for more than 14 days without further approval from a bipartisan committee.

Governor DeWine says he will veto.  Another RINO like Kasich. >:(

You can now see they are trying to link all your data together into a generally accepted single govt system using covid as a cover.

This makes the Patriot Act look like a toll booth at the turnpike...gps location, proximity/association to others, money in/out, business practices, purchases, browsing history, travel, health diagnostics, voting...everything needed for complete control and manipulation.

This is what 5G is actually being put in place for and guess who was right all along?

It's created some serious misunderstandings, that's for sure.  I'm really sorry to see that, as it makes for one of the worst parts of it.

But I suppose when something has been so all-the-way unexpected, it can't help but do that.

I emailed the owner of my gym and pressed about reopening and he told me it was "against the law" for him to open. I emailed back asking him which law would that be? He never emailed back. Spineless coward.

Just about done with this thread. In the end we seemingly have used this virus to usher in socialism to the point that it doesn't really matter who the POTUS is '20-24.

Tomorrow the House will introduce the "HEROES" bill....a 3 trillion dollar stimulus...largest in history and the tipping point for the country in my opinion. You know it's a bullshit bill when they put "freedom" or "patriot" or "heroes" in the name. Are we really that stupid?

When I say tipping point...that could mean economic, politically, legally, constitutionally...you name it. It is a complete abandonment of our system of living and cements the govt as a permanent nanny state. They will NEVER be able to take this money away once this is passed - the leftists lawyers will never allow it.

I'm sure this timing is just co-incidence.

https://www.theverge.com/2020/5/14/21257782/surveillance-bill-congress-senate-pass-usa-freedom-reauthorization-act

The Senate has voted to reauthorize the USA Freedom Act, bringing the surveillance bill closer to becoming law. The USA Freedom Reauthorization Act restores government powers that expired in March with Section 215 of the Patriot Act. While the Senate adopted an amendment to expand oversight, it shot down a proposal that would have restricted warrantless collection of internet search and web browsing data.

"A strange comic book that was commissioned for publication by the European Union in 2012 eerily predicted almost exactly what has unfolded with the Covid-19 global pandemic. However, in this propaganda laced presentation of the outbreak, unelected globalist bureaucrats save the planet."

QE will be passed. Then the next will be passed and so on and so forth and evolve. The US will be over 25% GDP of stimulus by the end of the year.

Any holdup is only political. Ultimately it goes ahead because the globe is switching back to QE currency policy and away from debt mechanisms.

Here in the midwest people are done with it...nobody knows anyone that has it. Tried to go into town today....bars with patios packed, long lines at Lowe's, Home Depot, Wal Mart, haircut joints...retail bomb went off this weekend. And when I say lines I mean the store is full and 50 people outside trying to get in but can't due to occupancy restrictions.

As I’ve been saying since Day One (as well as many others), this whole thing has been overplayed to the point of insanity.

It’s been a “tempest in a teapot”.

At this point, the charade is beyond old.

The folks responsible for the overreaction, and most importantly, its continuation after the first few weeks, need to be hung from lampposts.

Turning up the heat a bit:

China's Ambassador to Israel, Du Wei, was found dead inside his official residence Sunday morning, a spokeswoman for Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs told CNN.
At this stage, the 57-year-old's death is not being treated as suspicious.

We are now in the washing machine phase. Like that thing that happened in 2001, there is a massive amount of information containing very few facts. But - they have successfully printed the bailout money and took rights away - again.

Agreed^

I've little faith in the general direction headed in the west now...

I would have never thought a single event (that wasn't even a serious threat), could have successfully been blown up and used as has been the case.

It shows the power of fear and media nonsense over the average person. Let's hope the people can push back against some of the surveillance and other impingements on Liberty and livelihood we are seeing.
