First time I bought my wife flowers they were plastic. I thought they were real. They were in a glass case at Dagostinos Supermarket. I figured it was a refrigirator to keep them fresh. Plus they smelled good. I felt dumb when I found out they were plastic!

Mixed colorful bouquet is best, as doing something themed like 50 roses is a bit much. If she's a quiet person, orchids and lillies are good choices... someone who's extroverted might like sunflowers,etc... Including the vase is a nice touch.

Lol, well some inedible plants provide the oxygen we breathe and there are some around here who would argue that smoking them is also good.

As far as flowers go, some like them, some don't, but Moms usually do and since 50 is a half century milestone and only happens once, it doesn't hurt to splurge a little. (Actually, it's usually the card that comes with the flowers that makes the heart melt.)
