I’m tall and have back issues so when I drive I want to be totally comfortable. Also, most of us getbiggers are somewhat vain so I’m not going to lie and say I think I “deserve it” a bit. I’m looking at Range Rover, Navigator or Audi type vehicles. Any insight, real insight, would be appreciated. I know this is the place to come to for luxury advices...

Comfort makes people weak.
But, not luxury per se, but the Acura MDX is the most comfortable car I have ever driven.
-
Do you live in the United Kingdom?
Those makes and models have the reputation here in the United States as being excessively expensive to service and repair.
-
I heard Range Rovers are junk.
-
I heard Range Rovers are junk.
Any automobile manufactured by the British are junk. Range Rovers are completely unreliable and the costs for parts are ridiculous.
-
You can't go wrong with Lexus.

Yes, I am in the US.
Are you referring only to the LR? I do like the Lincoln and have been a Ford man in the past.

I heard Range Rovers are junk.
My mate has one says the same utter shit that he wish he never bought, rarely uses it and still fucks up regularly

No even British, they are now owned by Tata group. An indian company. Fuck that shit.
why do you want an SUV? Are you driving kids around?

Those are garbage.
Get a Lexus.
Lexus and Volvo make the most comfortable vehicles that last and don't cost too much to maintain. But i've never owned a Volvo.

"Luxury SUV" ::)

Fuck Lexus. I had one. The resale value is shit on them.

All cars have shit resale.
Never buy a new vehicle.
For the price they are the best vehicles around from every aspect except looks.
I had an is350 for a few years, amazing car.
-
I had a Range Rover years ago about 2-3 years old. I left the sunroof open it rained shorted the computer and the insurance totaled the entire vehicle. I would not recommend

What are you smoking? A Lexus SUV has one of the highest resale values of any SUV made:

All European cars are good for leasing, never own
Especially British cars
Good for a few years if you are lucky and not hit with all sorts of electrical and mechanical problems
You would think with the prices you pay for these vehicles they would be top notch to match the upscale leather, and materials in the interior, but it’s not the case in most

The GLE AMG coupe is my drive of choice. Pure driving enjoyment. 8)
Warning: the Sport+ mode is addicting... and thirsty!

Lol I hate those “coupe” SUV’s, much prefer the SUV instead like the reg GLE63

I had the standard version... now I prefer the Coupe.

My wife yes, she drives the kids. Baseball soccer etc. But, when we go somewhere I drive and want to be comfortable because we take her care. Those three came up when I googled the best SUV for a tall person. I’ll pay for comfort, if I can genuinely get it. I’ve heard the Navigator is very easy to drive in.
-
Cadillac Escalade or Lincoln Navigator both are nice with a lot of room.

Volvo are very comfortable we had to drive to other end of country for work and didn’t fancy going in one of the vans so my mate borrowed his wife’s big Volvo was a dream comfort wise and great on fuel

My friend,
this dream ride can be yours for $999.99 - crutches and foldable reverse hyper not included.
-
Wait for the Tesla pickup truck

I heard Range Rovers are junk.
The best day is when you part ways with one. These new crossovers they call Rover now are laughable. The old Series 2 models will still be running when these new cars are in the scrapper.

And they have had that issue for 20+ years and never fixed it.

My wife is thinking Range Rover. We always lease so could care less about maintenance.
-
OP if you are super tall I would look at something full size like a GMC Yukon Denali.
-

If you want to be mistaken for hebrews go for it ;D

The problem is when you’re driving alone which will be the majority of time it will feel like driving an empty school bus.

See them daily in my neighborhood, ugly.

Ugly just like the lambo SUV’s, Maserati etc.
-
You are going to lease or buy? If it's a lease maybe you don't care about reliability or resale value as much. FWIW my friend with a range rover had his break down twice and needed it towed both times at less than 2 years old. Other friend with BMW X5 raves about it. Another with the cayenne likes it, but I think if you're going to get a Porsche why get an SUV.

My 2015 CR-V, its epic! ::)

One of the great cars, like the Rav-4. They run forever and the maintenance cost is nil.
-

That applies to all three...While Lincoln is corporately under the Ford canopy...I would say if you have your heart totally set on an SUV (yech!!)...I would say get a decked out Ford with the options that the Lincoln has.

Ford👎American made cars are trash.

Yes I know...but to choose between Ford and Lincoln...Take Ford

Ive had a Toyota 4runner for 10 years and never had an issue besides a flat tire. Great vehicle but not luxury. Maybe this??

Good car, ugly design.

Wife drives RR sport, waste of money. She loves it but doesnt know any better. Hardly any boot space for prams or family items. Shell keep onto it until the motor blows. If I had my time again I would definately get the volvo xc90.

I know several folks who own Audi's. They speak very highly of them. Since you are tall, you might start by looking at interior dimensions such as leg space.

Just don’t drive one with an expired warranty

Went with the Navigator because of the massage seats. Escalade had them too, but there’s now stock. The Denali doesn’t have the massage seats and that was a deal breaker for me. The cool thing, which we will see if they live up to it, is the Navigator has a four year 50,000 service contract where they do all service free of charge and bring you a loaner vehicle to drive while you wait for your car to be repaired. Paint and interior are also guaranteed for five years. Time will tell if they live up to the expectation, but the car was probably the most comfortable I’ve ever rode in. I’ll keep my wife’s suburban for myself in the mean time, or if I get a silly offer on it, sell it. It’s crazy what used SUV and trucks are going for right now.
-
Luxury all the way. Good choice. Which model?
The top model Navigator is almost 3 times the cost of what I payed for my little Mazda CX3 in 2016, but it is also 3 times the vehicle. Too much for little old me who hasn't managed to put 28,000 miles on my car in 5 years.
-
Buy the Great Wall or Volvo , both made in China ............

I went with the Black level trim and the long version. For me the interior on the Black was nicer but it also was the one that had the extra service incentives. While not totally free, because it’s built into the price, if it’s how they say it is the convenience of it can’t be matched.

That Navigator is huge. It would just barely fit on one stall in my larger than usual garage. Convenience is never free.....not when it comes to personal vehicles.
My little Mazda has only cost me somewhere between $500 and $600 in regular maintenance service fees at the dealership over the past 5 years. There is nNo need for a loaner because the longest I have ever had to wait for it is about :45 minutes.

I do see what you’re saying somewhat, but I needed certain things.
6,000 GVW or more
Wanted it “now” and not have to order a build
Third row seating
Massage seats
Big enough for me when I drive it.
The Audi Q7/8’s were too small for me to ride comfortably in. The Range Rover didn’t have the third row seat. I had no desire for the Mercedes. So my choices were narrowed down due to my criteria. I do like GM products, as I own a few and my wife’s current vehicle was a suburban, but I wasn’t going to wait until Christmas for a car.

I can see that, busting your balls here.
I enjoyed the bmw x7 I had for a small road trip. Driven the Mercedes GLS, it wasn’t too bad, a lot of space
But the domestic vehicles come in much bigger configuration if that’s what you’re looking for though

Nav's and most Lincolns are very comfortable. Just get rid of it before the warranty expires.
Lincoln/Ford are good about warranty maintenance items, since they are cheap to fix. But they fight you hard on items when they "break".
Either way you should enjoy the Nav, one of my good friends has one.

You can't compare Audi/Mercedes with any US auto manufacturers.
Go German!
