Tomlin already told Russell and Fields that Russell is the starter.

Wait till he sees Wilson in practice and pre season games.

Why?  He's clearly better than Justin Fields.  He has already had a Hall of Fame career and won a Super Bowl.  And he's clutch.

He was good at one time. Did you watch him last year? He was terrible. Denver released him even though they still have to pay him 28 million dollars this year which is why Pittsburgh signed him for almost nothing (league minimum for a veteran). The Broncos tried to trade him but there were no takers.

I didn't watch him last year, but I've seen him quite a bit over his career when he played the Niners.  But in looking at his stats last year, he was not terrible.  Not great, but not terrible.

With Henry at RB no way they choke in the playoffs. This is the year!

If he doesn't get hurt.

If he does, Keaton Mitchell should be ready mid season to take over. I believe had he not got hurt they’d have beaten Kansas City. Dude was averaging like 8 yards a carry.

I was hoping Baltimore didn't make it to the Super Bowl last year because Lamar Jackson scared me.  I thought KC would be easier for my Niners to beat.  Silly me.

Russell Wilson is shot. Good thing they have Fields to fall back on.

I like Lamar Jackson, but he missed a wide open Zay Flowers in the second to last play of the game.  And he was off target on a number of other throws.  He is a great weapon, but his accuracy has to improve if he is going to get his team to the next level.

Whatever blocking schemes they used in the second half worked better than the first quarter/half. He had no time. He was averaging 1 yard to target because he had no time to throw anything. I’m not making excuses, because you’re right he needs to do better, but that line with three new starters is suspect at the moment.

The line makes a huge difference, but the throws I saw him miss were just poor throws.  And it’s weird, because at times he is on the money, threading the needle.  Then some throws are like WTF.  Reminded me of Jimmy G.

Their line was expected to take a step back this year because of the new starters plus the death of the Oline coach. It will be interesting to see how the new coach does with the new talent. It's only week 1.

Nah. Bengals and Ravens are the two best teams in that division and are both 0-2. 15 games left.
