Did anybody hear the self described El Rush Bo during the summer on the E I B network talking about and questioning where are all the hurricanes this year?

I couldn't believe Rush was going on like he was some climate expert who judges global warming only on the hurricanes that have not formed this year. Anybody who recalls what has repeatedly happened after what we've had in the past few recycled years, there was due to be at least one year of inactivity :-\

Click on the "AlGore" in the upper right corner.........that retard thinks we have 10 years before the earth destructs ::).........ooooooooh, I'm afraid, that bonehead should be committed........

RUSH: Try this one from yesterday's stack. I don't know if you people know this or not, but Al Gore has been out at the Sundance Film Festival out there in Park City, Utah. This is one of Robert Redford's big do's, and apparently Al Gore is working on a movie that -- what is the name of this movie? Oh, that's right, "An Inconvenient Truth," and the movie will document his efforts to raise alarm on the effects of global warming, and so he brought Tipper and the kids out there.

He's attending parties and posing for pictures with his fans. He's enjoying macaroni and cheese at the Discovery Channel's soirée. He's palling around with Laurie David of Curb Your Enthusiasm, who is the husband of Larry David, who drives the Prius and then flies the GV. Larry David says, "You know, Al is a funny guy, but he's also a very serious guy who believes humans may have only 10 years left to save the planet from turning into a total frying pan."

You are so blind.. It's like 55 here in NYC and nearing christmas. THERE IS CLEARLY SOMETHING WRONG.

Things other then C02 emissions might be causing global warming, but c02 emissions are the biggest culprit.

Crazy shit.  I'm almost hoping the dems get back in office, just so some damn tree hugging hippies can seriously look at these changes.  I know it's way more fun to blow up Iraqis and steal oil, but if Greenland or a nice chunk of Antarctica slip into the sea, the entire world is going to change very rapidly.

Yeah.. We need to take this issue seriously. I dunno why certain people just choose to ignore it, or decide that it's not real, when it clearly is. People like MR I are so blind. First response to this topic and he posts Rush's opinion, as though that viagra abusing fatso is some scienctists.  ::)

it's a precaution - like one extra colon check.  you might argue you don't need it... but to disparage people who want to get a second opinion, is just silly.

Nobody KNOWS the truth.  Both sides have points.  But further investigation can hurt no one, and only help our world.  Once something happens, and suddenly 30% of antarctica shifts one day, all hell is gonna break loose.  The big chunk of floating ice might take a year to raise sea levels 10 feet.. .but picture the madness that ensues, real estate market wreck, economy problems... NYC and Beijing being underwater... I don't think people understand what that kinda raise in sea leve would mean.

To mock people who want to study it more is akin to the wafer buffalo teasing the PETA folks.

LOL>>>>>

Bush is adding polar bears to endangered species list

Their habitat is declining - ice is receding since 1979.

Admin finally admits connection between ice sheet shrinking and global warming.

In the past, Bush Admin has never agreed with the connection between global warming and people activity.

Now? It is "Yes we do believe greenhuose gases "play a role" in global warming."

Polar bears are drowning, starving, losing bodyweight.  Population of the animals down 20% in some areas.  The entire summer ice sheet could be gone in 40 years.  Aside from the fact all the polar bears would be dead... all that water would be rising on our world's shores.

SO, NOW that the Bush admin is finally admitting the connection, will the neocon defenders admit it's real?

Maybe because they lost a chunck of the evangical vote on this issue and it's looking like that chunk of the vote will grow.  That and this is nothing new to Bush... He started with his doublespeak in 2000 and has never stopped.

when you acknowledge there is a problem you kinda gotta do something about it...but doing something about it is not economically optimal ...especially when your biggest supporters are the ones who stand to lose the most from environmental sanctions

thats a possibility

however the more immediate monetary loss that would result from protective environmental policies being enforced (with teeth) is a certainty and more to the point we all know whose say counts (ie large corporations) and whose does not (ie environmentalists)

It has been around 45+ degrees in Boston for the last month. It was almost 60 last month. The winters here are some of the worst in America. We have had no snow. Normally there would be about 2 feet on the ground right now. Cold as shit. It starts to get cold in October here. Winter can last as long as late march, early April.

This is weird.

Have not heard a thing about it. Last winter was pretty mild also. Not as bad as this year but def less harsh then previous years. Since I was a kid the winters have gotten slightly less intense each year. I remember when I was a freshman in college, I did not see the ground for 5 and a half months. Snow up the ass. Same deal in highschool, and grade school.

Gore's movie is the truth! Most critics are in total denial.
