I just got the Nexus S android phone and i love it. You can see crisp shredded glutes on getbig with this phone.
Its got 4g, and everything you can possible need. i can actually post on getbig now..Something which was to complicated with my older smart phone. Glad my work let me get this instead of a blackberry
[/youtube]
This phone kills the iphone 4g
So what phones do you guys use?
Sprint is offering

Blackberry 8900 Curve. Love at first sight. :) :)

Next you're going to be telling me a Kia something is as good as a BMW?

gee, and the iphone 5 is around the corner...

gee, and the iphone 5 is around the corner...
I play around with my girlfriends iphone 4 and you can't do much with it in comparison to android. It's also very sluggish in comparison to high end android phones. My tmobile G2 is running at 1.4 GHZ. The one thing that is the best on the iphone is the the camera..

nokia n97 mini, doesnt look like a fridge in your pocket, but does all the high tech specs. keyboard and touchscreen

Why aren't you happy with it?

I hear ya..I don't like the big size of my Nexus S..However, i can now make option/forex trades while I'm suppose to be working..The 4 inch plus screen is essential for that..
-
Captivate S
Love it.
I'm due for an upgrade in September, not sure which way I'm going...either the new HTC droid or or the new Samsung Nexus 4g droid....those are ATT's latest and greatest
HTC has a bigger display than my current phone, not nearly as sharp though.... HDMI out, which i want..and an 8mp camera, which i hear underwhelms for so many MPs.
The samsung nexus is a pure google phone, has the HDMI but still the 4 inch display, bacially an upgraded version of my current phone
I'm quite happy with my current phone actually and basically taking the upgrade so i can give my daughter my phone...I'm probably going to go with the Samsung, that HTC is a big, heavy phone and the display looks dull side by side with Samsungs AMOLED screen
PS.....Iphones are for girls
-
I cannot disclose what device I am currently carrying. It is not even out yet.

Stick with Samsung..The super AMOLEAD displays on the galaxy series are awesome. you can even see them in the sun...Something which i couldn't do with my HTC G2, not even at the highest brightness. By the time fall comes around there will be way better phones than what we are taking about now..However, the Samsung galaxy series are and this nexus are great phones.

Captivate is a very feminine---"girly" name...Captivate, Fascinate
-
Another thing is 4g really isn't that big a deal to me personally.
The places i spend the majority of my time noodling with my phone.... home, work or at my gf's all have WIFI..and it's faster and free.
-

Nothing feminine about a black on black carbon fiber phone.

yes, with 3g i get like 3mb a second download, and 7-17 MB a second with wifi..It's a no brainier. Even in a few months those galaxy phones should shouldn't be to outdated. The AMOLEAD screens displays straited glutes like none other though.

they are nice phones though...Iphones are girly phones in general me thinks.

Use the word "Captivate" in a sentence...straight face...
Use it with your GF..."gee, your breasts 'captivate" me", or "Your eyes 'captivate' my attention"
Not saying the phone is feminine, just they needed a better name...better branding...

today's world needs something short, and memorable, catchy, like G-phone, GS (oops, taken by Lexus)
Hell, when I think of the word Galaxy, I think of THE Galaxie 500

I have the HTC Thunderbolt...It's the best phone out until tomorrow when the Samsung Charge is released those two are comparable.
Many of you don't have true 4g...Us at Verizon do...we get 5-12mb per second...That's the fastest. We have a better iphone 4, better phones, better coverage...You can't go wrong with Verizon and their phones..
-

Or even "phone" ;D....Who in their right mid would say..."babe have you seen my Iphone 4 32 g." ??

I have the Samsung Galaxy S and I love it, they recently came out with the 4G version of it. I refuse to call it "vibrant".

Actually, the nexus S is running android 2.3 already, and the charge is still on 2.2...Other than that the charge has almost the same specs, except the charge has a bigger screen

i just dropped my 8830 for a htc.
GPS - damn near 100% accuracy during state - state travel, no real need for backup plan or tom tom as with blackberry
better biz and financial apps such as open office, access to quickens products
saved 30$ on the bill w/more features
blackberry has a lot of work ahead. i'm sure the recent blackberries are more advanced given my 8830 was a dinosaur.
all blackberry had going for it was its' instant messenger but that alone isn't going to cut it. i think i was down to 2 contacts. they can text mess or e-mail me.
-
I have a Mezmerize. No idea how to use it effectively, but I can get on to Getbig when at a stop light :P

The only thing that BES does better than Activesync is the folder replication.
With Blackberry Enterprise Server all of your folders get replicated to the phone... So, if you have a folder from let's say Ron Avidan, and all of your email from his email address goes in there... It always gets replicated and you are notified.
If you use Activesync (iPhone, HTC) then only your inbox is replicated and pushed constantly... If you open a folder for email, such as the Ron Avidan folder, then it will sync that folder when you go look at it, but it won't do it behind the scenes or notify you.
However, if you're an enterprise customer and you like android devices instead of blackberry's I recommend "Good Technology".
It basically does what BES does for blackberry on damn near anything else... We used to use it for Palm devices... It is a FANTASTIC product.
For the IT nerds... check it out here:

Top end phones have now got like the PC, the hardware is more than powerful enough to do anything so its all down to the software and User Interface, thats why apple is still king
-
Droid X
If you are comparing, Droid phones vs Iphone, yes Iphone may have better apps but one major sell......The Drpid phones have an exppandable memory. You max out your memory on Iphone ur screwed...
-
HTC HD2 running Android Gingerbread
No point getting a new phone when there is nothing significantly better/newer (processor, software)

p.s it all bullshit now, battery technology has not caught up with these !"modern" phones

Iphone is the best phone in my experience. I've had the 3GS and now the 4 and they both own other smartphones in usability and quality.
I'd like to add I really dislike Apple as a brand and Google is more or less my favorite. But Apple has the best smartphone.
-
I have an HTC EVO... it is awesome.

I'm surprised how many studs and studets carry Android phones :o
I have a HTC Desire HD. Huge 4.3" screen and all the other goodies. Updated it to 2.3 and WiFi stopped working ::)

You aren't driving your car when walking, are you? For instance, i used GPS yesterday for walking to a new barbershop after i parked blocks away....

MFers always trying to find an angle on getbig, parker. I had a girlfriend with GPS in her car, and the thing gave her after the fact exit commands in the TriPlex in Dallas, so she would pull to the side and cry. All GPS devices, esp TomTom and Gavin, arent created equal.
Oh BW, I didn't buy the EX V6 Accord with the GPS. They were asking for almost 5k more, and I was still undergrad when I purchased the car.

Samsung Galaxy S2.
Previously stood in line like an idiot on launch days of iPhones just because of the hype but even the iPhone 4 doesn't come close to this.

damage proof. water resistant. made for the military. can keep it under water for up to 30 minutes no problems. can run over it with a small car.

I've currently got a phone the general public won't see for months

Yea, when I got my accord last year I didn't get the navigation either. My tom tom works just fine and cost me all of 70 bucks.

Thunderbolt or iPhone 4? I want to stick with Verizon. I've had an iPhone before and it was great, I've heard the droids are still a little unpolished, unlike the iPhone which just worked and the OS felt solid.

Thunderbolt or iPhone 4? I want to stick with Verizon. I've had an iPhone before and it was great, I've heard the droids are still a little unpolished, unlike the iPhone which just worked and the OS felt solid.
Is it more solid? Maybe. It only has to support 2 phones. The 3gs and the 4. Android supports a lot more.
I think it comes down to how you like to use your phone. You know. The user interface.
Personally. I can see the iPhone still being preferred with its ease of use and only one button and the Steve jobs mentality of 3 touches can get you anywhere.
To me it was about just trying something new.
I may one day go back to the iPhone.... but it will be dependant on OS updates from Android and what not.
Right now the iOS gets updated regularly. I like that.
Droid will have to see how it stacks up.
-
Yea, that's the advantage Mac OS has had over PC's as well, only having a small range of hardware to deal with so they don't have to worry about compatibility issues with 1000's of different motherboards, ram, video cards etc, which is why the OS has always felt more polished and just works.
I know the Thunderbolts hardware blows away the iPhone 4, but the new iPhone will be out in September and will probably have dual procs, better screen, more ram etc. I might just hold out a little while longer to see what other droid phones come out at that time and do a comparison.

Don't hold out... get the one you like right this minute.
Holding out just means that when you buy that "next" phone... when the NEXT phone comes out after it, you'll want that one.
I went with the HTC because I like "Sense"... That, plus the Activesync it has (which apparently not all Android phones support) was a big deal to me... That's why I got the Inspire... Does what I need it to do.

For real. I was like that too. I have a LG Optimus running on Virgin mobile for $25 a month with unlimited data. I don't even have to pay for internet service now because I use the Superbox app to make the phone a wifi hotspot. Real cool shit out there these days.

Yeah, same here. I have a Droid X, and for comparison on Ipod touch. If the Iphone is like the Ipod I would prefer it over the Droid. But these phones are just made for girls 16-22. All of this social networking shit is like a big vanity mirror. I have apps on my phone for a shit load of things and I never use them. On top of that, I don't think there are any apps I would even want except for GPS driving directions and maybe a basic internet browser for simple things like "Where is the Autozone around here." The rest sucks.
The only people who can get by with this vs. a decent computers must not use computers for anything remotely advanced. Try coding anything on a phone except maybe really simple SQL. Checking stocks and such would be ok if the connection was always solid. Even sending an email takes four times as long to type.
