Not as good looking as Zac Efron.
IMO, he's not leaps and bounds better looking that me. Not ugly...his face seemed somewhat asymmetrical to me.
He had groupies too - young brunettes with their hair parted down the middle [same appearance as many of the women he murdered] who showed up in court to watch his trial. It was weird.
Reading comments like "How could a man that good looking commit rape?" As if being handsome precludes you from raping.

Maybe he was being compared to the stereotype of a serial killer or something. He was ok looking, but to be portrayed in movies by Christian Bale [essentially] and by Zac Efron [literally] was a bit odd to me. Not as odd as the female fans who showed up to watch his trial.

I don't think he would've been considered "average at best" back then. I'd say most women would have him at a 7-8. No Homo! I don't think he had to rape or even cared about it much. The kill was the ultimate thrill for him.
Main thing is that he played on sympathies with some (the fake cast thing), was outgoing, charming, intelligent, and knew how to manipulate people to get what he wanted.. Based on the serial killer docs I've seen he neither preyed on prostitutes/gays or hid.
